Goldfinch Funeral Home - Link to order flowers on the Goldfinch Funeral Home site

Goldfinch Funeral Home

My family utilized Goldfinch Funeral Home's services and the obituary through their website had a…read more"click here" to purchase flowers for my mother's funeral. We had a family viewing in the morning then a graveside service at the National Cemetery in Florence. My flowers were supposed to be delivered to the cemetery an hour prior to the service. We arrived 20 minutes before the start time and the flowers had not arrived. The Goldfinch representative called the funeral home and confirmed no flowers were there and no more were at the cemetery. After the service he gave me a card and suggested I reach out to Goldfinch and they would make it right. I verified my payment and order went through and showed the internet picture of what should have been there to my family. I called Goldfinch and the person that answered the phone said she knew nothing about the website and she would talk to the owner, Megan, who would call me back. No call came on the afternoon the flowers did not arrive from Goldfinch. A second call the next day was answered by Carmen who said they have nothing to do with the 3rd party sites that they link through their site and that the flower vendor tried to call me while I was with family at the Goldfinch Funeral Home. Out of respect for our loved one, we all turned off our phones. There was a very personal reason for the selection of flowers and the time has passed since our loved one is now buried and the family that gathered has dispersed. Worse, instead of doing ANYTHING to make it right, the Goldfinch staff has been unhelpful, uncaring, and stated they do not stand behind the vendors they provide links to on their website. Incredibly disappointing during an already difficult time.

Goldfinch owns Grand Strand Funeral Home and Crematory, and you can not only save significant money by utilizing this "discount" company if you don't require a service, but you will likely be more than happy with the extremely competent and compassionate Chris Ward, who is the Manager of this location. Chris did everything he could to make our sad situation as stress free as possible. When my daughter and son-in-law arrived from out of state, Chris arranged for my wife's body to be placed in the chapel at the funeral home so that they could say their goodbyes. He also set up a convenient time for us to be present when the body was to be cremated, as my daughter needed assurance that the ashes that would be given to us were not accidentally switched. Additionally, Chris returned our phone calls promptly and made practical suggestions pertinent to our situation.
