They also have a Christian school that's attached to the church, but above all that cool little things their doctrine is spot on!

It is our desire to glorify God above all else as we seek to reach the whole Waterloo Region with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We focus on doing the following 4 things with excellence: proclaiming the authority of God's Word without apology, lifting high the name of Jesus in worship, believing firmly in the power of prayer, and sharing the good news of Jesus with boldness. We would like to invite you to join us at our weekend service as we worship the living God in Spirit and in truth! We trust that you'll feel welcome at Trinity and look forward to meeting you!

The teaching is as good as it gets and we love the church's slogan: "No perfect people allowed." It's a very welcoming, non-judgmental, seeker-friendly place.
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (www.standrewskw.com) at the corner of Queen and Weber streets in…read moredowntown Kitchener, is a warm and accepting place which attracts worshippers of all ages. It offers a traditional style of worship without the stuffiness! Inside its beautiful 150-year-old stained glass and wood-carved sanctuary, hymns and classical music co-exist happily next to comtemporary worship music lead by a talented youth band. Most of all, I love the gorgeous music at St. A's offered by one of best adult choirs in the city. Douglas Haas, the Master of Music, is a well-known international organist, having performed in venues across Europe. The 50-member plus, St. Andrew's choir includes members ranging in age from 18-70+ yrs old. Along with leading weekly worship, the choir presents gorgeous sacred choral music for the Easter and Christmas season each year. The church's music programs includes a 30+ year tradition of free noon hour concerts which feature excellent soloists/ musical emsembles. These lunch-time concerts attract many in the community who purchase an inexpensive lunch or bring their own to enjoy in the pews as they listen to some lovely musical performances. The Minister of Preaching and Worship, Rev. Mark Lewis, is a former moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, well-travelled, well-read, good-humored and known to break out into a very credible Elvis impression to help drive home the point of his sermon! Rev. Janice Hamalainen, Minister of Pastoral Care, is a trained Stephen Minister and offers additional support to congregation members who need it. A parish nurse is also available as a resource to congregants. The Sunday School program led by Christian Education Co-ordinator, Martha Fergusson, offers rich and varied programming for all ages. St. Andrew's treasures our large youth group led by Heather Wood. The youth are an integral and a vibrant part of our worshipping community and their group attracts many committed and participating young members. St. Andrew's has a big heart and also offers weekly overflow space for the Out of the Cold program, runs a thrift store and organizes a Victoria Day BBQ and New's Year's Day meal which serves over 250 needy downtown folk each year. Many international missions and relief programs are also embraced by St. A's members who gave over $15,000 for Haitian relief efforts after the earthquake. St. Andrew's Presbyterian's services are broadcast on CKCO TV on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, thus reaching an even wider audience. All in all, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Kitchener is a great place to visit and a wonderful community to join!
Been coming for a while, when I can (with school, that's less often than before). The full…read moredisclosure is that I am also a member, so I am obviously biassed in my rating. This is a liberal religious group, not explicitly Christian, but with roots in the Judeo-Christian tradition. We do Christian-based services for Christmas and Easter and so on, in recognition of that heritage. A community based in covenant, not creed, there are strong buddhist influences, as well as an active Pagan women's group affiliated with the congregation. We have celebrated Seder with our Jewish members and also have a strong Humanist-Atheist membership. If you are intrigued, it is worth coming a few times before deciding one way or the other, as the types of topics and speakers can be quite diverse. It is also a fabulous community of amazing, wonderful and wise people. But then, as I said before, I'm biassed! :-)
