My wife is from Knoxville, Tennessee, so she knows a lot more about Dolly than I do. We had planned…read moreto stop here on an earlier trip and finally made our way in! We tried the cinnamon bread and the brisket sandwich. The cinnamon bread was decent, but I still prefer the version at Dollywood. The brisket sandwich was okay, too, though I'd pick Buc-ee's brisket over this one. Overall, it's worth a stop if you're traveling through. If you're heading north on I-65, missed Buc-ee's in Athens, Alabama, and just crossed into Tennessee, Dolly's is a good place to take a break and grab a bite.

I wanted to stop at Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop while I was on a road trip to check it out,…read moresince I did like Dolly Parton, and was sad after she passed. I love stopping at BucEe's when I come across one, and I knew Dolly's was offering travelers a fun option in Tennessee. In my opinion, there is no comparison. Dolly's is easy to find getting off I-65. There's a large parking area off to the side, and I think an area blocked off by brightly painted and decorated concrete barriers for 18 wheelers. Walking into Dolly's, you're automatically transported into a space full of every kind of Dolly Parton knick-knack, or souvenir. The guitar chandelier is cool to look at, and hard to miss. I didn't get any food during my stop so I can't comment on that, I do know there wasn't much of an aroma of food to entice anyone. If you're needing gas and wanting to check out a travel stop that is original, Dolly's definitely offers that. I did buy a few souvenirs to say I stopped at Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop. The staff didn't seem to be as friendly, or welcoming as the staff at BucEe's or even Love's which was a bit of a surprise. It's a cute place to stop and check out at least once, in my opinion it's a place that may be more meaningful for Dolly Parton fans.

There are TVs through the place most often displaying local sports. Jumbo Margarita are always enjoyable and the chimichangas are outstanding. The plates and silver are always clean as well as the glass wear. The flavors could be improved upon, but I don't fault the restaurant. Most locals likely fear having their lips burnt off by wildfire that can sometimes be associated with "authentic" Mexican cuisine. If you are daring and seek some heat, feel free to ask your server for some hot sauce. They happily attend to your every request. This place has done a bit to embrace the modern age putting a device on every table that connects directly to the servers. A simple press of a button on the device will let your server know that you are ready for your check, require fresh drinks, or simply want to ask for hot sauce. This investment is worth noting as well as the servers prompt responses to the requests made from these devices. Overall, this is one of the best places to sit down and eat in our little town.

I am always looking for a dive bar / tavern type feel when I go out, so looking online this was the perfect fit. It's pretty small inside, but just what you would imagine. Large bar right in the front and a few tables scattered throughout the restaurant. They have some larger tables in the back. We had a total of 9 of us on a Friday afternoon and got a table right away. I had the Cheeseburger. They waitress said if it's your first time here, you must try a burger. She wasn't kidding. This was one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. The table shared the boneless wings and they had plenty of meat, and plenty of flavor. They have a full bar & plenty of cold beer on tap as well. Check this place out if you are ever in the Pulaski are.
