Working with Destiny Olsen was one of the best decisions we made during our first pregnancy…read more Immediately upon meeting her during our initial consultation, we felt connected and a huge relief that she was able to walk us through our first pregnancy. Destiny is a guide, sacred witness, educator, incredibly skilled and knowledgeable in the birth world, but most importantly a present, loving, and deeply respectful human. She supported us throughout the whole process and was available for check/ins, meetings, and provided us with so much helpful information, resources, and referrals in the birth community.  She is a throughout communicator and is very organized and well connected in the birth community. She is deeply respected as an expert and we felt trustworthy of her and her recommendations/information provided.  If you are exploring a birth doula or postpartum doula, I truly cannot recommend Destiny more. She is a delightful human to be in your circle during such a potent time as pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She brings knowledge, evidenced base research, as well as an embodied, heartfelt, intuitive wisdom.

When it came time to labor and delivery she was readily available for all the questions we had. She was a core part of my care team. On the day of she was present, supportive and gave us reminders to engage in self care. She was a crucial support for myself, my partner and my medical team. Postpartum care was necessary for support and integration with a new baby. She did an overnight with us, day time education, lactation support, organizing and overall emotional support. I cannot say enough things about destiny and how amazing she is. Hands down best decision to have a doula and more specifically Destiny in our corner!

Previous birth experiences in labor and delivery weren't great for me and my husband. Moving from…read moreCA to Utah recently and not having any family in town, my husband and I talked about hiring a doula for the birth of our 3rd child. When Hanan and I first met, my 2 little ones were a little wild and couldn't sit still that morning. Hanan was patient with them and took her time with me. I felt very comfortable and wanted to hire her on the spot. She was so nice, knowledgeable and caring. I knew I didn't need to interview anyone else and she was the one I wanted to help me while I was delivering. My husband and I spoke that afternoon and I immediately let her know that we chose her! Anytime I had a question and yes it could have been a silly question she always answered. She gave us a recap on a class in our home and it was nice to go over things that I forgot or may have not known from my previous 2. She made me and my husband feel comfortable and looked forward to delivering baby. I ended up getting induced. Since my husband had to be with both kids and was going back and fourth between hospital and home, Hanan came shortly after labor and delivery checked me in. She was there every step of the way. I had no idea if I was going to have a non medicated labor or have an epidural. She provided me knowledge along the way. She kept my mind off contractions. She used techniques to help my contractions feel better. She was positive and kept cheering me on. When I got to 7 cm dilated I didn't think I could do it. She encouraged me and was my cheerleader. I got to 8 Cm dilated and I was freaking out. The pain was horrible. All I wanted to do at that point was to get an epidural but I knew I couldn't. I got this far and knew I had to finish up what I always wanted to do. Hanan was right there helping me try to feel comfortable. Again using different techniques and just being positive and calm. Next thing I knew I had to push. Hanan knew it was important to me to have my husband with me while baby was being born. She went out and got him and stayed with both of my kids while I pushed baby out. I am forever grateful to her for being there for us, helping me get through a non medicated labor , being positive and calm and being my cheerleader. She was an amazing doula and gave me a birth experience will never forget. One of the best birth experiences we have experienced. I would highly recommend Hanan to anyone asking about a doula. She truly is the best and know if you chose her you are in the best of hands.

I had the honor of working with Kylee from Doulas of Utah (formerly utah valley doulas), and I…read morecannot express enough how grateful I am for the incredible support she provided throughout my birthing journey. From our initial meetings to the postpartum follow-up, Kylee showed professionalism, friendship, compassion, and expertise. She made my pregnancy and birthing journey truly remarkable. Kylee's warm personality and abundant knowledge put me (and my husband) at ease throughout our pregnancy. She took the time to understand my unique needs, talk me through fears, and helped me clearly lay out a birth plan that incorporated all my wishes. Her ability to listen attentively and offer emotional support was invaluable. She even helped us find our perfect midwife! During labor, Kylee's presence was absolutely needed. The days leading up to going into labor Kylee checked in frequently, Once I had gone into labor we gave her a late night/last minute call and she arrived at the midwife very timely. She brought a sense of calm and reassurance that helped me navigate the intensity of my experience and did an amazing job instructing my partner. She held my hand through each contraction (I'm sorry if I squeezed too hard) and her knowledge of various birthing techniques, comfort measures, and positioning options was extensive. Kylee's unwavering encouragement talked me through the most difficult parts of my labor. She not only supported me in my decisions but also worked collaboratively with the midwife team to ensure open communication and a harmonious birth environment. In the postpartum period, Kylee continued to be a pillar of support. Her follow-up visits were thorough, and she provided valuable guidance on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and adjusting to the new dynamics of parenthood. Knowing that Kylee is there for me beyond labor added an extra layer of comfort and reassurance. Choosing to have a doula was one of the best decisions I made for my birth experience. The passion Doulas of Utah have for empowering women and creating positive birthing memories is evident in every aspect of their work. I wholeheartedly recommend Kylee and Doulas of Utah to anyone seeking a supportive, knowledgeable, and compassionate team member for their birthing journey. Thank you, Kylee, for being an integral part of my transformative birth experience! If you find yourself on the fence about whether to enlist the support of a doula, let me tell you that the decision to have one by your side is one you won't regret. I felt heard, supported, and empowered every step of the way. (+) I also participated in a Birthing Class (Hypnobabies) offered by their team which my husband and I greatly enjoyed. It helped us connect with our baby and each other. (+) I also chose to do use their Placenta Encapsulation service which was a game-changer for my postpartum journey! The process was fun to watch, and the capsules were made right in my own kitchen.

I hired Madison to be my doula. This was my first pregnancy and we also recently moved to Utah so I…read morewanted to make sure I got the support I needed during labor and at the hospital. My hope was that I would be able to labor at home most of the time and go to the hospital with just a little time before going into active labor and giving birth. We met a few times before - once before I hired her and once before my birth. She also was very open about answering all of my questions during our visits, but also was amenable to me reaching out to her separately via text or phone call to ask any additional questions or request information about any concerns I had during our contract. The day I went into labor - My contractions started at midnight and I contacted Madison despite the late hour. She was very nice and accepting of me reaching out and requested that I keep her updated as thing progressed. She offered to call me if I wanted that or she could just continue to text me back. For me, texting was easier because I could focus more on trying to stay relaxed in the dark. When my contractions progressed to the point that I thought it might be time to go to the hospital, she did ask if it'd be alright if she called me because she said it was easier to help me determine if it was time to go to the hospital based on how much contractions sounded and how close they were together. During that phone call, we confirmed that it was almost time. My husband took me to the hospital and Madison met us there. She arrived after I was admitted and in the labor room working through my contractions. Upon arrival, she helped me with breathing coaching (I didn't think I'd need this, but honestly it was really helpful in the moment to have someone help), offered me different tools to try and help work through the contraction pain (birthing combs, exercise ball, different contraction position suggestions, counter pressure on my back, helping me hold different positions as needed and explaining things to me in the moment. That really created a safe place for me to focus on labor knowing that I was safe and that I had people that supported me. Her attitude and approach to this also helped to set the tone for the nurses and my midwife who also were involved in my labor and delivery. My husband stepped back and let Madison take charge of certain things like positioning and breathing, but Madison stressed the entire time (before, during and after labor/delivery) that she would do whatever was needed to include my husband if he wanted to be included. As things progressed, Madison worked with the nurses and midwife to offer support and continued to explain things to me during labor and through the pushing phase. Her breath coaching, i cannot stress enough, was paramount in my ability to stay clam and focus on delivering the baby. I will absolutely hire her for future pregnancies and would highly recommend her to you as well. She has a calm and quiet demeanor. She listens and is open to all birthing plans (mine was unmedicated). She is willing to discuss all manner of topics and also offers additional services beyond her doula role. I really appreciated her ability to explain things as they were happening to me to ensure that my fully informed consent was always made a priority. Thank you for all your help, Madison. You really made a huge difference in my experience. A big reason it was such a positive one was thanks to your presence and knowledge. Thank you!
