Wasaga is my favourite Toronto beach considering the drive. When I'm craving a nice sandy fresh water beach with clean water this is my go-to. The drive, especially the last leg, is beautiful too. The water is warm and there are many beaches to choose from. I usually just wanna get wet so I just go to the nearest one as I drive into the area. The parking was a little expensive but ended up being worth it because it was so close to the beach. The park staff was patrolling the beach with ATV's and it looked like they were quite competent. The last couple trips were weekday getaways when I just wanted to 'get up early, drive like hell and sleep on the beach' so I'm not sure what it's like there on a hot summer weekend.

Wasaga beach... A staple of anyone from the GTA. I have fond memories of wasaga as a child and I still visit as an adult. There are 6 beaches you can visit, beach 1 being the most popular central beach. Many people say that beach 1 is full of drunk teens/young adults, not very family friendly. I'd have to agree with that, only beach 1 is also known for all the restaurants, retail establishments and arcades. If you forget anything while at the beach, you could go to beach 1 to get it... Or drive about 10 minutes away to a walmart. Beach 2,3,4,5,6 are usually more quiet, especially the further away you go. Most beaches have washrooms and rinsing stations to get that pesky sand off. The sand is usually pretty good, as it is kept clean by park staff, who will also write you fines if you're caught drinking alcohol on the beach which is a big no no! The water temp depends on the weather of course and if you go after a rainstorm prepare for muddy waters. There are two types of parking lot's available, provincial and public. Provincial usually charges $20 per car, and you can't re-enter. Public is normally $10 per car, same restrictions. There is a very helpful map of parking on the wasaga beach website. Who doesn't love the beach? Sure i've been to cleaner and nicer beaches, but wasaga is convenient and close to home. 4/5

Wasaga Beach is a nostalgic place for many people who grew up in Toronto. Most people I know have been to Wasaga Beach at least once growing up. It's located in Simcoe County and It's approximately a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Toronto depending where you are coming from. It's divided into 6 different beaches. Beach 1 is where most of the restaurants/patios and souvenir shops are located along with a kids play area. Most of the younger crowd hang out at Beach 1 and 2. Beaches 3-6 is quieter and you usually will find more families at those particular areas. The beach is decent, it's definitely not the most pristine sand but it's fine to play volleyball on or sunbathe on or just a place to relax on with friends. I can't really comment on the water but many people were swimming in the water on Labour Day long weekend. Parking is $20 for the day if you decide to park right next to the beach but if you are willing to walk 5-10 minutes to the beach, many motels and locals businesses were renting spots for $5-$10 for the day.

The park doesn't have many things to do during the day for activities but that's why it's in Wasaga because everything you could want to do is less than a 10minute drive away! The washrooms and showers were okay just make sure to bring your own personal hygiene products as there wasn't even any soap in the washrooms. There was a live DJ Saturday night which unfortunately I didn't get to see but by the sounds of things was also pretty good! If you're looking to get away for a weekend and enjoy a cheap party/camping experience with friends this is definitely the place! Would have been five stars if there was running water and/or electricity at the sites...

FIrst of all, if you're not into loud, raucous parties, this place is not for you. This place is…read moreadvertised as party central, and they are not kidding. The place itself is pretty nice, very big, lots of trees and decently clean bathrooms and showers. Every site has a huge garbage can, which is emptied every morning and a fire pit. They sell firewood and ice at the front, where there is also a beach volleyball setup and basketball court. It is a 5 minute walk to a 24 hour grocery store, and the Walmart (in case you forget your tent. *cough*.) It's probably a 20 minute walk to the beach, but we drove because we didn't want to drag all our stuff there. They do everything to make sure everyone has a good time. From 9pm-12am, they have a tent set up with music and laser lights for a dance party. Let me tell you, dancing on soft sand is AWESOME! At 10pm, a car from Dominos comes, selling large pizzas at $10 each. At midnight, music has to be turned off, but most parties go on until dawn with no hassle from the Party Police. When we left, the friendly girl at the front suggested that we visit their Facebook page and tag ourselves in the pics that they took at the dance tent. Everyone who works there was friendly, which can't be easy seeing as their entire clientele is made up of drunk partiers. My only complaint has more to do with the other campers than the campsite, and has a LOT to do with the difference in ages. It's been a long time since I could party all night and wake up at 9am and party some more. Nowadays, blasting music out of my car in the morning (MORNING!) after a big booze down is too ridiculous a concept to imagine. The average person who goes there is in their early 20s, and from the Kitchener/Waterloo area, it seems. Other than the loud mornings, this was totally fine, as everyone is very laid back and just out for a nice time. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants a camping experience they will never remember!
