Wasabröd is a Swedish producer of Scandinavian style crispbread. They produce a wide variety of crispbreads. The original crisp bread is made of rye, but their various products include sesame, wheat, and other grains. Like matzo, Wasa is noted for its long shelf life.
I love the Light Rye the best. The Wasabröd company has been in business since 1919. Beginning 1983 it has been under foreign ownership. Since 1999 it has been owned by the Italian food producer Barilla. On the package is a toll free number for WASA-U.S.A. in case you have questions.
All I know is I love this Light Rye. It's very Low Calories/Carbs with only two ingredients. It's great with nut butter and cheese. It's something I eat for a snack or as part of my lunch. Some weeks I eat two almost daily. I'm certainly glad it's sold at my local grocery. (Even better when I catch a sale.)
Try it out if you are carb conscious and don't want a lot of added ingredients in your crackers. read more
