Like all the libraries in the Warringah Library network, Belrose Library aims to cater for all segments of its community in providing library resources. It mainly succeeds in doing this, but sometimes the success of a program is at the expense of another library demographic.
The elderly are well looked after by Warringah Library Service; they can make use of the large-print books, join a knitting group (not exclusively the domain of the elderly, but pretty close to it) or undertake a "Seniors and Computers" course. Lovely, but loud - not exactly great for those who use the library as a refuge from the noise and distractions of home.
The very young are also well catered for; they can go to Story Time, participate in the Young Readers Program or Premiers Reading Challenge or attend weekly "Fun and Games" sessions.
The library also aims to cater to older students, providing a vast range of HSC related books and services, plus opening for extra hours for the duration of the HSC. The library has a comprehensive range of titles, with a lot of new releases featuring prominently in the collection.
In addition to these services, Warringah Library at Belrose has all the library favorites - fiction and non-fiction books, audio books, reserving systems, freely-accessible computers, daily newspapers and monthly magazines.
The large space that it occupies guarantees that unless HSC English takes place the next day, you should be able to find a spot to curl up ad have a read. read more
