We had to relocate to sandiego 2 days ago but my kid keeps saying about her classroom friends and teachers 24×7 and says wants to go back to MCA after she comes from school she would enact and play her classroom scenarios with her soft toys as her friends, herself and me as Ms.Smita and Ms.Waafa. She loves her classmates and Ms.Smita and Ms.Waafa as they do so. Even I am so addicted to talk and play with my kid about her classroom. We had to relocate otherwise she would be still going to Ms.Smita's classroom at MCA. My kid loves the place and the gift letters given to her from her friends and school. Ms.Smita has so much positivity and ever smiling face which influences the kids that even I take her as an example on this is how I need to be with my kid. Their education methodology is the best around Detroit as my kid was attending couple of daycares around until she was 3, I can compare her learning and behavioral development after going to MCA. Most importantly teaching is based on montessori methodology through activities taught to kids with love and care. She's eating even rice by herself now thanks to Ms. Smita,Ms. Waafa and Ms. Nancy. Thanks to Ms. Aari for teaching spanish and engaging the kids with the exercise song and dance moves. My kid perfectly teaches us that since beginning. She recently started full-time just for 3 weeks before our move and enjoyed time with Ms. Chris arts and crafts classes. Overall MCA is the best thing happened to my kid and us in Detroit and Ms.Smita's classroom is the only thing we miss now. She was also yelled at very aggressively by a grown man, the teacher assistant Mr.Joey on her second day, mind you she was 3 going on 4 at the time and it was her first time being away from her parents, HE needs to be fired and investigated because he's a very aggressive person, i witnessed him yelling at kids and I also saw him on the cameras pulling kids by the arm he should NOT be around kids, I let this incident go and try to give the school a second change, but things got worst, they change teachers about 3 times or more, there's no structure, the kids are out of control, there's VERY poor sanitation, expect your kid to be sick on the daily basis, because THEY DO NOT CARE TO KEEP A CLEAN SANITIZE AREA for the kids. NOW, the school director Amber Wussow DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, she's very under qualify, all of our incidents were reported to her (which I hope she still have them on file) And she was no help, the most we got from her was a "Sorry". I truly hope someone higher up reads this and does something about the school and the school staff. It's very sad that parents are leaving their kids in the hand of people that's not qualified enough to be around children. My son was involved in the biting issues and came home with deep bites on his back and scratches on his face as other kids stole his binky and bit him afterwards. I have pictures. AFter he was bitten multiplie times, he did bite a kid to protect his cereal. It was explained to me by his pediatrician my son bit from learning by the other kids who were biting him. He said that is an issue with staffing not engaging the kids and helping the toddlers to distract from what ever is causing frustration. After the state came in to investigate the high number of bites in a set time, I chose to stay. When the state called me at the beginning of the investigation, I did ask if we could not do the investigation and the investigator said bites are a health issue and have to conduct an investigation. Here is the report. It really bothers me that I stood up for the facility and asked stop the investigation and the owners still did what they did lately and honestly it hurts. The investigator made her own decisions based on how Wee Excel handled everything. The teachers at Peace are amazing...they honestly care about every student that enters their classroom. Any time I have had a question or concern, they have been prompt and worked with me to remedy the situation and put my mind at ease. I love that my children are not only learning the state requirements but they are also learning the love of Jesus and surrounded by it every day! My daughter started high school this year, and chose to go back to public school. She has straight A's, and is well-equipped with the education she needed. I highly recommend Peace Lutheran School to anyone looking for a Christian school for their child.
