I'm a strong proponent of private education and I love Anchored…read more The smaller class sizes offered are ideal so each student has easier access to their teacher and the teacher can spend more time with each student. While it is a small school, there are different sports options so the students can learn teamwork and experience being a part of something. Despite the small class size they accept exchange students each year giving the students exposure to various cultures from around the world while giving the exchange students exposure to our culture and to teaching from the Bible. Anchored is the only accredited private high school in the area. They offer an excellent curriculum that leads to higher test scores on average than a public school. While the test scores are higher, everything in the curriculum is geared toward the testing like it is in a public school, taking stress off the students and the teachers. They also participate in a year academic competition against other private schools in the state and with the first place submissions getting the opportunity to go to a national competition. I attended and graduated from Anchored and my son attended Anchored for most of his school years. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you want you child to have an education that includes the Bible or if you are tired of your child getting lost in the shuffle in the public school system.

Each day I come…read moreto school, I enjoy being there (except for the days when I have bad anxiety, but that is not the school's fault). I have an IEP plan, which is a plan for school you get if you're diagnosed with autism. The IEP plan helps and the resources the school provides make my school experience awesome. The teachers and staff make me feel welcome. Most teachers allow eating and chewing gum in class ONLY if the food/gum is not distracting. There are minimal issues though. Some of the students are not kind and do inappropriate things. There is frequent bullying and offensive jokes. If your child is weird or likes the Beatles and wants a school year with 0 bullying, this school is not the choice. I love the Beatles and I am a massive fan, but I get bullied for liking the Beatles. Overall, I recommend this school.
