First stop on I-20 after crossing over the Mississippi, this is more than just a welcome center and rest area. It has a terrific view of the bridge and the River, plus the Navy Circle that protected upriver from invading forces. The state of Mississippi should be ashamed at the way they've neglected the main welcome center entering the state from Louisiana. Yes, it's in a good location sitting atop the river. But it's not easy to get to and the parking is limited. You can geta a nice picture of the river and the bridges. The bathroom was old, dirty, and hot. It looked like something out of the 1960's. It's an embarrassment to the state. They should cross the river and look at what Louisiana's welcome center looks like, or better yet, the welcome center entering the state of Texas. read more

Even thought I stopped by in 2005 during my trip, this welcome center is very memorable! I'm Californian, so knowing Californians and our welcome centers, we're not exactly the "nicest" people. This place was the epitome of "southern hospitality". Not only does this center has a great view of the Mississippi River, it also gives you free drinks (soda, tea, etc.) for your quick stop. Great place to stop to take some pictures. read more

This is a must do before heading out of MS! The views of the River are breathtaking! Such a nice spot to take a break, use the restroom, and just enjoy a bit of history. I highly recommend this visitor center! read more

I mean I guess it works if you need to stop, but the bathrooms are kinda gross and it's pretty crowded.

Stopped during my trip from TX to the east coast & its truly the best place as far a a rest stop/welcome center. Insanely clean bathrooms & the added hospitality of the workers/volunteers who had you a cold drink. Need I mention the view??!! read more
