It is that time of year again. That time of the year where everyone falls sick as the seasons turn…read more I have not been an exception this year, I have caught a nasty bug. I really needed to go to a doctor to get checked out, as I am just about to go interstate. My usual doctor was booked out, so my next best bet was to go to a bulk-billing clinic. Which brought me to The Domain. Now I have been here a couple of times now. Every time I have visited, there has been a massive waiting time. But, what could I do? I needed to see a doctor and this was the closest clinic. So, I turned up and took my place in the queue. I was told there were 61 people waiting and 8 doctors, hmmmmm.... As I knew it would be a wait I brought my laptop along so I could get some work done while I waited. I asked the reception lady whether there was wifi, to which she replied no. I thought to myself, why not offer WIFI if there is always a huge wait? Anyway, that is beside the point. So, I waited, and I waited, after one and a half hours my name was called. I could see that the doctor was grumpy and tired. Most probably in result to a huge amount of people he was seeing. He was blunt and just wanted to get the check over and done with. I tried to make him laugh to snap him out of it, which kind of worked for a bit. But I could see he just wasn't in the mood. Got my check done and prescription filled. I think the thing that got to me the most was that upon leaving I said, "well, I hope you have a good afternoon"; to which he replied "at 10:30 tonight when my shift is over I will". Hmmmm... in all honesty, I just felt sorry for the guy! It has got to get to you after a while. I understand that the bulk-billing public medical systems can not keep up with the demand. But there are two things I see here that is the problem with my experience. 1: Health funding needs to be increased to get more doctors in bulk-billing centres to ease the pressure & 2: a bad attitude will only make your day worse and impact on your patients. Look, if you are really in need of medical attention and you cannot afford to see a private doctor or can not get an appointment, bulk-billing centres like this are important. But maybe leave it as your very last option if you can or prepare to wait. Also, I should point out that this is probably the third negative experience here and I have spoken to the staff about it.

If I could give this practice a minus rating I would. I have tried most doctors at this practice…read more They all just treat you like paperwork here's a script and go home no further thought or care. I was recommended dr Hogarth as being someone who would actually care and take notes and not just shove medication at me as a solution. I made sure I made an appointment each week as I have a lot of health issues that I need monitored. I had just requested a pshyciatric evaluation as i was not feeling right and the diagnosed was ptsd. The report recommended some first line treatments. He gave me 2 medications one that was very effective one that is causing bad side affects and affecting my quality of life. I went to my.next appointment to review what he had put me on but he told me he couldnt help me. I left and continued to suffer. I decided to get an emergency appointment as i couldnt stand what this medication is doing to me. He again refused to change the meds. So i asked if i was allowed to have 2 of the ones that actually give some relief and stop the other one. He said no he agreed that 1 and a half was.all he could give. I told him that i appreciate it and its better than nothing. I had also asked for a script refill for my night time tablets. As iam straight to the point i expressed my concern about just putting someone on a new medication and failing to act conisering that i had reached out multiple.times. after my appointment i only received one of my perscriptions. I thought it was an oversight. I called the front desk explaining this and i was completely disreguarded and hung up on. So i thought how can i fix this so i contacted the practice and made a complaint about all of this both the doctor and the receptionist. When the manager taaid calleed me regarding my concerns he said his main concern was that i complained about his staff. He did not want to hear anything i had to say. I. Explained that all i did was raise a concern with the doctor about duty of care and needed a medication review. He informed me that i was no longer to see doctor hogarth all my hard work to build a rapport and have my health monitored had gone down the drain. Iam in absolute shock at the way i have been treated by this practice. There have been a few really helpful receptionists however one of them named tatiana was the worst and treated me like i was nothing even though i cried and explained that i couldnt continue the medication and needed help she just disreguarded me completely. This left me feeling alone and upset and most of all dissapointed at a medical practice that is supposed to look.after their patients not leave them to suffer. I have no other option to start from scratch which is very frustrating. I would never recomment this practice unless you want a script refill or a doctors note. For any other service they dont seem to put any effort in and have no desire to correct the problem and will leave you feeling very unheard. This doctors surgery is a danger as leaving a patient suffering can be deteimental in so many ways. Iam strong and will just keep at it but next time the person they do this to may not be as strong as me. This treatment could trigger all sorts of problems including self harm and suicide and iam deeply concerned for any future patients that may experience something similar. I will be contacting the for health group which they are a part of to advise them of this misconuct and faliure to act on a complaint. This is a long review but i wanted to give all the information so others could avoid this happening to them as well. Thanks for reading.
