My doctor sent in a referral for a hernia operation last June and again in November and I have still not been contacted about it. It is a brand new building with the same quality of people, as the old building, working in there. I you have a sucking chest wound I would recommend driving to Klamath falls, Lakeview or Fall River. I do not recommend the Modoc Medical Center to anybody!

Well they took that and ran with it and had me sent to the hospital for a 72 hour suicide watch. I told them I was not suicidal it was just a manner of speech. So they said they would pack all my things and send them to the hospital with me. Well they didn't they missed a whole closet with some of my brand new clothes and coats and I'm having a hard time getting them back now. I'm not the one that left willingly and they are responsible for my things so I've been trying to reach them so that I will have a quote this winter. Some of the nurses were very nasty. The facility no longer has this nurse working with me, I have another nurse who works with me at all times. The aides have improved on call times and the facility has successfully kept Covid out. I would have left here if it were not for some people who stood out from the rest, Nurse Helen, Nurse Genna, Desi the med aide and CNA's Welly and Shiree. There are many others who are appreciated and make this place livable but it would fill up this posting. I will remain here until I can correct some issues with my health and can move to assisted living, but for now I am satisfied with the changes they have made and would reccomend it, it far surpasses the two facilities my parents were in.

Let me tell you, we didn't have it and we absolutely needed help. The care they provided gave us the opportunity to just be with my mom. No need to worry about medication and other things. Also, as the time ticked down, they were able to recognize and explain what was happening, so nothing was a surprise. It was such a great comfort to have Anna with us when my mom actually passed (and my mom's name is Anna ... kind of a sign!). Please do yourself and your loved one the favor of having Anna and her team there with you. I promise you won't regret it.

I have never been treated with such respect and with such courteousness then any other. The staff is awesome. The food is great, even for a diabetic. The drs and surgeons are unbelievable. You can still say what you will, but I will argue with you till im blue in the face. If you don't like them, no one forced you to go. If you're negative, no one needs your opinion.

I had a lot of well-meaning friends tell me to establish somehow a relationship with an oncologist in Portland. After the experiences I've had in the past two months (April, May 3025) I'd need clear and convincing evidence to use anything *but* Sky Lakes. I witnessed repeated professional courtesies between all the staff, not just nurse to nurse. It was the first time I ever heard an RN personality thank a kitchen worker for bringing up a second supper tray for a patient whose appetite was coming back. I saw the RNs get some good advice from a CNA and used it -- they too thanked him. Those are all signs of a healthy professional relationship between colleagues, not simply peers. And *that* environment is what it takes to heal and become healthy. You can keep Portland. I hive Sky Lakes. .
