If you are a Black or Brown parent- I would recommend that you look for other daycares. Although…read morethe teachers are nice- unfortunately for this to be a church there is no grace or acceptance of all people. On the tour of the school, I should've went with my first mind- and decided on somewhere different but everywhere in Glouster had a waiting list. The director Whitfield said they didn't provide any food or drinks for the children-which is fine. But she followed up by saying we just ask that parents don't bring koolaid. If she would said "we don't allow colored drinks that have the potential to stain the floors like koolaid, v8, and other highly dyed drinks" I would've been okay. But she assumed because our family was black we would have him bringing koolaid everyday. Then the 2nd week of class we arrived at 9:08. Instead of explaining the late policy - which is children are not to be permitted after 9 am and letting my child in the classroom due to this being his second week- she refused to let us in while it was pouring down raining- and told us "we should've read the handbook" My son also had many unexplainable bruises. I would ask his teachers and they would say they didn't know. They thought I brought him in like that. I take pictures of my child everyday before and after he attended school and I showed them that when he arrived for the day he had no marks on his face. And I asked why was there not an incident report done. There was no explanation. The last straw for my family was that his teacher would be out and there would be a sub. They asked only my child to stay home "because he doesn't deal well with change". I don't know where she got that assumption from because everyday when I picked him up they told me had a great day. Either way I've never heard of a teacher being absent and they ask only the black kid to stay home. They also said they asked him to stay home because he would not sit down when he eats and he likes to climb on furniture-which to me is typical 2 year old behavior. Never once have they said my son was violent, has hit other students, or misbehaved. Yet- opposed to other students in his class where I've witnessed pulling of hair and hitting- they were not asked to stay home. After that incident- they did not reach out to apologize or explain their position. There is only one black child in each class. They even moved my son from the two year old class - so that the one year old class, two year old class, and three year old class - could each have one student of color. And disguised it as my son was not ready for the two year old class. As I have toured other daycares since - they said they would never move a child down but instead meet them where they are. This review is intended not to bash this daycare but spread awareness to other families who may look like me. I'm sure if you are Caucasian you'll have no problems here!

I love how the children are always learning in all age groups. It makes my heart happy to know that there is place like Starting Point where parents can leave their precious children and truly know that they are receiving the finest care possible. The Director, Christa and Assistant Director, Dawn and Ms. Glenda are amazing leaders and care about their staff. This is truly the best kept secret in the Gloucester. I would highly recommend this amazing learning opportunity for your child. Sincerely, Sondra Colbert

This place is fantastic! I can't really say much more then what everyone else has...but they have…read moreeverything to stay fit all year around. They have multiple fields for soccer, base/soft ball, field hockey and even 3.5 miles of trails to walk or run. There is even in door soccer!!! There is an indoor pool, but I am not sure of its services / hours. A must if you live in the local area. Larges amount of parking.

I only have two regrets about WISC:…read more 1) I wish we discovered it four days earlier on our trip to Williamsburg. 2) I wish we had a place like this close to home. We were looking for batting cages to practice for the upcoming Little League season and boy did we hit the motherlode. Not only does this facility have five outside self-pitch batting cages, but it has at least an equal number of impeccable baseball fields with nice scoreboards, dugouts and bleachers. I would say they are at least AA-level, maybe AAA-level sized fields. There is also four fields that look like they are probably used for A ball. In addition, it looked like there were a similar number of soccer fields plus several basketball courts. All of these were incredibly maintained. And this is just the outdoor facilities. Indoor are more soccer and baseball practice facilities, daycare and fitness facilities. We used the outdoor fields for free. Based on the website, there is no initiation fee and monthly dues are $75 for a family of four. A great bargain. We did not use the indoor facilities, but they looked great and were equally well-maintained.
