In the spring we had someone deliver and spread 50 bales but with a recent summer project we decided we needed a few more. Their business is one that allows you to drive in and look at the various stones and rocks and they also have a small office building where they have samples of scoop able products such as small rocks, sand, wood chips, etc. Once you have decided on your product you drive out and they load you up. They also have some large rocks/boulders on pallets which were very cool. They confirmed they are available to deliver as well. They do not place the large rocks. Great find and the employees were also helpful and friendly.

I…read moremade the purchase from the Plafftown location and upon receiving the mower, 2 things were wrong with the mower. Lcd screen fogged up on the first start and the safety with via the parking brake contact was faulty, thus making the starting difficult. I was pissed but, somewhat understanding. Had to take it back, a hour to hour 30 minute round trip. Told it would be back in 2 weeks. When the 2 weeks had passed, I called and was told, they would "get to it the next week"! Ahhh, I just bought the damn tractor to mow and was needing (grass does tend to grow during this time of the year), the mower to do so. Nothing"runs like a Deere" right. I told them I would deal with those issues later because the whole purpose of a mower was to in fact, mow! Another week, maybe, was not an option. Drove back and the next day, I mowed. Wait a minute! The cut looks like Ray Charles adjusted the deck! Spent 4 hours, yes, every bit, trying to get the damned deck to level as per directions and every tube video available as a guide. To NO avail. How the Hell could this come from the dealership this way??? Much colorful language was expressed! I was pissed to say the least. I kept the mower and used it for a total of 7 hours because I needed to mow! And was to mad to take it back, just yet. Finally, I had enough. I just happened to find this dealership, called told them of my problem and was told to ring it to have it checked out. I schlepped it to Ashboro's James River Equipment location. Nolan was very helpful and understanding and listened to me moan about "green" paint. Fine, I figured I would get it fixed and when retrieved, would sell it and get a Toro, as I have "The Beast", a commercial 60" z series that I love, as it never "laid down on me", but, it is too big for around my home. Great for the 3-4 acres surrounding the hacienda however. Damn near went and bought one ( a smaller deck), during this time. I did express an interest in "upgrading" to a x350 to Nolan, as I was gun shy to say the least of the x330. After a week, I was contacted by Nolan and told the deck was in fact "defective". Love me some dat "green" paint kiddies. Yep, gonna sell the thing as soon as I got it back... I told myself. Nolan communicated they would have to get it (a new deck), from the factory. Great, a month away. I thought. Nolan was very professional and understood my "angst". 4 days later I received a call from the owner/manager "Brian"and we chatted. I chewed and he kindly listened. Long story short, he offered me a complete refund, tax and all back to me towards a x350 with a 48" deck if I wished. He didn't have to do that and I was truly surprised! His kindness and professionalism was in "full" display and very much appreciated to say the least. Thoughts of a Toro soon faded during his proposal, and I went yesterday and picked up the new x350. I Will mow tomorrow with the "Hulk II" and add to this review to report how it performed. But as far as Brian and the gang at James River Equipment in Asheboro goes, 4 stars. A professional attitude that is far from normal these day's. Thanks guys, really appreciate it!

I've stopped by this Sedgefield a few times in the summers to refill propane tanks for my grill…read more This time though, was in the winter. With serious winter weather in the forecast, we had serious concerns about losing power, so decided though we don't typically use the grill in the winter, we better have the tanks ready so we can cook if need be. I went over the morning before the storm, but was told I was too late, and their tank was already empty. But they said they had a truck coming around lunch, and took my name and number to call when it arrived. Sure enough, a few hours later, I got a call, and headed back. By the time I arrived there was a short line of people waiting, but they worked quickly, and kept the line moving. Pricing was very fair, in fact, much better than swapping tanks, as I've found the few times I saw them, they are not really full. When Sedgefield fills the tank, they fill it to 100%. They account for what is already in the tank, when they fill no games, no scams...you pay for what you get, and their pricing is $4 a gallon. Would certainly recommend to anyone, and will certainly give them future business. Not just for propane, but also for mulch or gravel when we do some landscaping work in the spring. Always good to have an honest business to do business with.

I miss this place…read more Before it closed to the public, Sedge Garden Nursery was a longtime member of the community, and had a great selection of plants, shrubs and flowers. Everything we've gotten from there (except for the witch hazel that I accidentally stepped on, and 2 azaleas that died after their first winter was too harsh) has flourished, most especially our ginkgo, ram's horn willow, Japanese maples and okame cherry tree. And we still have 6 of the 8 azaleas we got from here. They guaranteed whatever they planted for one year, but we only had them plant one thing. Everything else, Earl and I planted ourselves, and hey, it still worked out. (Obviously if you plant something and don't do what you're supposed to do, it's not guaranteed; this isn't a big box store.) My only beef with this place is because they were understaffed, they hardly ever picked up the phone, and they didn't even really notify customers that they were closing the nursery to the public. It's still unclear to me if they do landscaping, lawn maintenance, or if they pick up their phone now.

When I bought them they look dead but the lady there assured me that they weren't dead but they were dormant and that they would pop back up. I've been watering them every day and have not seen any improvement when I called to ask the lady that helped me answered the phone. I told her about the issue and she told me it was my fault for not watering them correct correctly and they don't replace plants. I will never shop at sedge garden nursery again or recommend them and as a matter of fact I will deter people from using them in the future.

Everything sounded good until install day. Their installers need to find a different career. Where…read moredo i start, First they showed up unanounced, no phone call or warning for someone to be there. Or how about the multiple locations that screws were installed, stripped out, and removed leaving empty holes. There is even one exterior hole that they put in a screw and missed the support so they pulled it out and twisted it slightly but still left part of the old hole exposed. Some locations have screws half installed and not tightened all the way. There is crooked trim, drip edge around the lower part of the window that is definitely going to leak. Now for the door issues, it's an overpriced mobile home rear door. They installed it and apparently couldn't get it to close properly so the removed the striker plate. How do I know they removed it you ask, because I found the nuts to the stricker plate bolts under the egde of the door frame. Then the door had protective film on it, they didnt remove it and after a few moths of sun exposure I have a pealing sticky mess all over the outside of the door. Then the last thing I can think of is, they finished install in the dark so the next day I picked up lots of sharp sheetmetal trimmings all around the building in my yard plus a good 50 or more screws the fist couple of days. I am still finding a screw from time to time popping up in the grass. Yes I know they are just the middle men and didnt build it or install it but THEY did hire the idiots who installed it. I wasnt expecting it to be a high end building but I also didnt expect the half ass installation that was avoidable. So I can not recommend this company to anyone else.
