I have lived in the area for some years, but just recently have begun exploring the small shops and boutiques in the small town of Havana. On my most recent visit I brought three friends with me, to go to the Wanderings. Visually it was very well put together, staged and appealing. As a jewelry artist myself, I looked at their selection of silver rings. While the rings were very pretty, they were mostly synthetic stones and priced well above market value. The music playing contained vulgar language (multiple 4 letter words), so it is probably not an appropriate place to bring children.
My friends purchased drinks and we sat down in one of their areas with a couch to drink coffee and chat. An older gray haired woman who worked there, came over multiple times. Initially trying to sell my friends on the $4000 couch we were sitting on, and to find out if we were still there later. We chatted in the corner for about an hour and a half. I saw no other customers enter during that time. The woman returned and asked us to leave so they could clean. She handled it briskly, and I assume was somehow put off by our presence.
It was handled poorly by this woman. I was offended on behalf of my friends that she asked paying customers to leave, even though they hadn't yet closed (4:12pm). They could have started to clean, as she claimed they needed to, and we would have understood and moseyed out on our own. I do not think it was wise for a small local business owner to "kick out" paying customers on a slow business day. I will not be visiting the Wanderings again.
Only giving two stars due to the nice atmosphere. Customer service warranted zero stars. read more
