Great location and friendly staff who were very accommodating of our well mannered dog. Room was spacious and clean with two balconies viewing the water and a small park. A quiet nice place to stay. read more

Amazing reception staff and I have to commend Dorukcan Ö., Ahmed K. and Vardıya S. for all their help and the nice welcome at check in. For an urban hotel, it has fantastic amenities. There's a wonderful large pool that overlooks the sea, a fantastic fitness center with glass windows overlooking the square, a beautiful rooftop terrace bar and restaurant with spectacular views, and many shops and restaurants on the lower level. The rooms have large windows and incredible views of the city. The bathrooms are marble with luxurious rain showers and nice amenities. The beds were very comfortable. I found the check in to be extremely fast and very efficient and charming. I've stayed in hotels all over Istanbul and I avoided the Taksim Square area before but at this hotel I love it; the room is an oasis of quiet in the center of the city. But you can step outside and everything is next door! Restaurants, shopping, metro, taxis...The hotel is like an urban spa. The actual spa and hammam are very nice in the hotel. If you want something luxurious, but also want to be in the center of the action and close to nightlife and shopping, this hotel is a fantastic choice. And don't forget to visit the roof terrace bar and restaurant (sometimes featuring DJs) even if you just want to see the view. It's probably one of the most outstanding and highest views in Istanbul....360° views above the city.

My room had a beautiful little balcony on the 5th floor overlooking a quiet street but still within view of all the action on the square, seriously charming. After traveling through the Middle East for weeks, staying at much more expensive hotels this was a very relaxing low pressure environment to spread out. It's still very classy and clean and full of wealthy people but without the pressure to maintain appearances like at a Fairmont or Ritz Carlton, casual luxury. I booked 1 night and ended up staying 4.

Hotel Name: "The Buffet of Broken Dreams"…read more Rating: 1/5 stars (and that's being generous) I honestly thought I was walking into a decent hotel with a promise of an "all-you-can-eat buffet." I should have known better. The only thing "all-you-can-eat" here was my patience--because I spent more time waiting for food than actually eating it. Let's talk about the buffet. I've seen more food on a toddler's plate than what was served here. "Baby portions" doesn't even begin to describe it. It's as if the hotel staff were testing out what it feels like to starve someone to death slowly, one microscopic serving at a time. The portions are so small, you could convince a toddler it's their first meal after a week of fasting, and they'd still be left crying for more. I don't know if I was supposed to nibble at my food like a confused mouse or if I was being hazed by a sadistic chef.

I was ecstatic to get rest on the 10th floor without stomping over my head & noise from any other guests - I saw none on my floor. The room was nice with 2 doubles, large walk in shower in a nice bathroom. No face towels - so I knew to bring my own. No microwave so I brought my personal crockpot. But there was a disgustingly filthy coffee pot & struggling mini fridge that eventually got everything cold. All in all my stay was better than expected considering the negative reviews about the thin walls. So I was proactive in my attempt to get the highest floor. There's 15!!! So I didn't complain. When I plugged in my international adapter then my multi outlets with 3 outlets & 2 usb-c, I blew a fuse & lost most electricity!!! I asked the front desk to send someone to reset the circuit as if I know what I'm talking about. Someone came right up, tested the outlet, reset & I was back up & running. I then used a different multi outlet with less options. Dodged that issue. I took a chance & ordered breakfast. Mini pancakes arrived barely warm, sitting on raspberry sauce, side of chocolate. Barely ate 1. The best part other than the city view & watching the traffic at 4 way intersections without stop signs, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the 'call to pray' from the mosques across the city. All in all, shockingly if this hotel is their idea of 5 stars, I'd stay here again.

Some stand out moments were: - We arrived really late, around 2:30am when we initially thought we would be there at 12:30am and the staff was there to greet us and immediately met us getting out of our cab. Our credit card didn't work to pay the cab, and they ran in and paid for the cab for us and charged it to our room. I read that they have done this for others and this was extremely helpful as they noted that many cabs will try and make you pay more, so they can negotiate the correct rate for you. - The night manager was lovely and while checking us in, mentioned that they knew we would be getting in late and that no restaurants would be open, so he had the kitchen make us sandwiches and gave us tea. - They offered to make any tour arrangements or hammam reservations for us, but we had already done so. - We had an early flight out of Istanbul, and they made arrangements for a cab for us from a vendor they prefer, and gave us money to pay the cab and charged our room. They also provided us with some tea, offered to make coffee and gave us sandwiches for breakfast. Location - You can walk anywhere! Under 10 minutes to the Grand Bazzar, right by the Spice Market, a 10 minute walk from the Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, etc. - The location of the hotel is right where everything is, so they don't recommend taking a cab during the day. Rooms - We had thought that the rooms would be small, but they weren't as tight as we had thought. - Rooms were spotless and very nice. - Beds were comfortable. Other - The roof is beautiful, and you can get a great view of the mosques. It also serves as a bar and you should try and be up there for sunset if you can. - They have a jazz bar on Friday and Saturday nights. - The Turkish breakfast that the hotel provides is wonderful.

I was looking for a Marriott/ SPG hotel which was located on the European side near the Bosporus and wasn't a ridiculous amount of points to redeem for a few nights. Check in was easy and we received an upgrade to a suite (we're platinum members) which had a great view of the city! If you're flying into Istanbul you may call the hotel in advance and arrange for airport transport (something we took advantage of) for peace of mind upon arrival. If you only speak English I would recommend having the hotel call a metered cab for you as sometimes the cab drives may try to quote you a higher fare if you're a tourist.
