The man (older, middle-aged) who helped me has no apparent gardening knowledge. Any time I ask him a question, his responses are along the lines of "that should be okay", or "I've seen that". Really?! He does not instill confidence at all. My next concern is that he changed the price on the tree I chose. On my 1st visit he was not sure of the price so he double-checked, and that extra step and discussion made the price very clear to me, and I still wrote it down so I would remember. Apparently, when he went back to the office (where the customer cannot see what he's doing), he wrote it up for $20 more than he quoted me. When I came back to get my tree, he told me it was $20 more than he quoted me before. Of course he offered to cancel my purchase, but I had already invested in the cost of renting a truck, so canceling and buying elsewhere would have cost even more. Unfortunately, they have been the only nursery I have found in the area that sells fruit trees so I have to go back (ugh!) and when I do, I will certainly make them provide me the agreed upon price in writing. Also, I will try to get help from the nice young man instead of the older man who clearly can't be trusted. Buyer beware. The only additional thing I will buy will be my fruit trees. I'll find another nursery for the rest of my landscaping.

The delivery guy was a subcontractor I think, but he was cool about all that. We put down about 210 rolls. We followed the instructions they provided and watered the bejeezus out of it for a couple of weeks and every single shred of it took well. Good quality product and great service. He has owned it for 19 years and now it is strictly for weddings. No store ~ nothing to buy. Lovely grounds, plants, ponds, waterfalls, gazebo, arbor, water fountain, and twinkling lights in the trees. There is a lovely outdoor area set up for the ceremony and then we moved indoors for the cocktail hour. It is open and bright. However, one toilet for about 100 people was interesting. There is a tent, that is airconditioned and probably heated based on the season and weather. Plenty of room to move about so moving around the tables was easy. Just a heads up: they lock the doors for the indoors after everyone has moved to the tent. That means, you must use the toilet facilities attached to the tent. Better than a port-a-potty, but . . . Currently, Swanson is blocked off so you have to drive around the road block.

The staff is far more knowledgeable and patient than the folks at the big-box stores. They are super friendly, and they really take the time to help you. They have high quality products at competitive prices. I love the fact that they carry zero-VOC paint. The big-box stores claim to have this, but if you read the labels, you'll find that it is really low-VOC paint. Not the same thing....still contains carcinogens. Another thing I like about Lloyd's is the fact that they keep a record of the paints you purchased and what room you were painting at the time. So when your kid draws on the walls or you accidentally ding the wall while moving furniture, you can just go back to Lloyd's, and they'll mix up a bucket of the same color. Three cheers for Lloyd's! My family has been visiting them my whole life, and we're never disappointed.
