I was returning 3 items I bought 2 days ago because they did not fit. I brought the item into the store with the receipt and all tags intact. I was returning the 3 items and purchasing 6 more. The cashier scanned the return items and stated that she could not accept one of the item for exchange, she said the tag was not correct. The tag match my receipt. I was dumbfounded because I never have this problem before. The cashier left the area and return a few minutes later. I again ask her, so, I can not return the item? and she replied "no". I stated, the item doesn't fit me and I have no use for it. She continue to say that her scanner and the item were not the same. but my receipts and the item number on my receipt is the same. I continue to point to the receipt and the tag and show her that they were the same. at this point she finally took it and completed the transaction. This situation I feel was emberrassing. The record stores are long gone, the demographic that they pander to has changed, and sadly the population that visits has obviously decreased a lot as well. We were there a few days before Christmas and there was only a handful of people walking around. We stopped in just to visit since we had just finished dinner at the attached restaurant. There is a handful of closed spots, with a few displaying signs that a new one is coming. A lot of the stores we were used to visiting are gone. The place seems, to me, a bit run down. Musty and a bit dusty. I can see where some items were made more modern and updated, but it still feels like it's aged a lot and not gracefully. For malls, it's a smaller one, it doesn't' carry a wide foot print, nor a very long one. The outside gives it a large appearance, but inside it's tiny. Even with its size, it's a decent mall to visit.

But...I had 2 hours to kill so I thought I'd try penny's today. I will admit, I haven't been to Penny's in YEARS I bet. But boy has this place changed!! And for the better!! I was honestly floored when I left! I found mens summer T's on sale (for my Teen sons), a slew of options in the women's section, (Worthington and A.N.A brand for me fabulously), and I walked out with an entire outfit that didn't make me look dumpy for 1/3 of the price I was expecting!! I also grabbed more summer shorts on clearance. I was amazed at the selection, quality, options for even big/tall men(which I have 3 of in my house) and the prices....I mean wow! I was helped by the most informative associate as well. She wasn't wearing a name tag but she was at the mens section register by the door. Super nice! I will definitely be going back to Penny's very soon! Thank you for being Penny's again! It really does help to go to a store and actually find options that are cute and that are affordable and fit!
