I said can I just speak to someone at the store. Very nice manager answered the phone and she quoted me a price with a 17 point check. I said all I want is and oil change. She said you get it anyway. It's a corporate decision. I did it myself with moblle 1 for $76.06 less. Thats $304.24/hr all this for a simple quote took 20 minutes. You try it tell me I'm wrong. And I don't like changing my own oil, but I'm just saying. The quote was $117. for 15 minutes.

During the oil change the technician forgot to install the rubber gasket on the premium oil filter which caused the engine to sling oil all over the engine and chassis. I noticed the amount of smoke the following day emitting from behind the vehicle and when I pulled over on the side of the highway the dipstick wasn't registering any oil. I was across the road from a convenience store and was able to purchase 3 qts of oil to put in it. I called Valvoline and they were open and told me to drive it in if I could. I will say the staff that was there that day wasn't the same as the staff the day prior and were very apologetic about the whole incident. The mechanic in charge diagnosed the issue as a missing gasket and proceeded to change the oil and put new filters on again as well as scrub as much oil off as they could. The car leaked a good quart out on my driveway overnight that wasn't easy to clean up. Not sure if the technician was just having a bad day or if this is a consistent problem with this store but regardless I will not consider them for the next oil change and I'd advise others to heed caution as well.

What a blessing They're hungry stomachs were because we pulled in, got our lunch, and wouldn't you know there was Plaza tire service right next-door. We walked in were able to get the tire fixed and hung out pleasantly in the lobby of Plaza tire service with the wonderful gentleman. They were able to seal and plug our tire in under 45 minutes and have us back on the road. They treated my children with dignity and respect as well as they would treat their own. I felt safe and comfortable finishing our road trip home to Minnesota.

Ben was a godsend!!!…read more My college aged daughter was 3 hours away from us, out in the middle of nowhere, just starting her final semester -doing her clinicals- in a rural school. In the cold and snow her car wouldn't start. Our roadside assistance took her to the nearest place but when I got the estimate for JUST a new starter I about fell over from sticker shock! She needed at LEAST a new starter, plus a battery, plus her brake lights weren't working all of a sudden. They were doing what a lot of small town places do, and were raping us on labor and whatever else they could. It had become a hostage situation at that point. Troy was the nearest, largest, town and I frantically jumped on the internet, checking reviews, and found Quality Auto and saw all the reviews about "honesty" and "fairness" and "work ethic". I called and Ben answered. He wasn't keen on spending a lot of time researching an estimate but, when I told him the situation, he took valuable time out of his day and ended up quoting me significantly less than the other place. I called our roadside assistance and, luckily, got a free tow to his place. I paid the other place the $96 bucks for their diagnosis. In the end she got her starter, a new battery and an oil change for about the same price the other place was quoting me for JUST the starter. The brake light thing worked itself out and I commend Ben on not taking advantage of me on that issue as well. It's hard when you're not able to be there to oversee things and your kid is stranded. I just had to TRUST A STRANGER on the phone. I feel that he WAS honest at every turn and VERY fair! He received her car around noon and had my daughter back on the road by the end of the next day (somehow!!). I know he's a small business and probably very busy, but he managed to resolve our problems honestly, fairly and in a speedy manner (at some expense to himself, I'm sure). He's a "good guy" and I get the sense that he lives by "good guy" ethics. Here in Lees Summit, we have a wonderful mechanic like that too- that we TRUST and is FAIR. But if I lived anywhere near Troy....Ben and Quality Auto would be my choice! Thank you so much Ben. You get "angel points" for this. So thankful we found you!

I was thinking I had a wheel bearing going out causing my brake & ABS lights to come on when I applied the brake hard or when I drove over a bump. I told him that I cleaned the ABS sensors the week before which did stop the ABS light from coming on but didn't stop the brake light from coming on. He asked me if I checked the brake fluid, that if it's low that could cause the brake light to come on like that. I never notice any leaking of any fluids so I didn't think about checking the brake fluid. So I check the fluid and it was at the minimum fill level, I filled it to the maximum level and then took it for a test drive. Well I'll be, it fixed it! Thanks John for the expert advise, you saved me a lot of aggravation and money. AutoZone, Give John a raise! He may not have made a sell this time, but I'll be purchasing there for any future needs I may have. He's a good asset to your company.
