Next I was confronted on how I needed to change out both of my belts because my vehicle was unsafe to drive! I have a great blessing in all this, that I myself (as a woman) have actually worked on cars, have some sense, and understand how bad they were trying to rake me over the coals! If I would have left out of there on their 'recommendations' I would have spent probably $300. I JUST wanted an oil change, but thank you for the insight angry gentleman behind the desk! Finally get someone and I asked if they are done bouncing me around and before I could explain why I was buggered about it, they launched into this whole "we are at several locations, 22 departments" etc. I was appalled because I was trying to convey the issue. Once I finally explained, for the 3rd time why I was calling, this person just rudely started rattling off details about the claim and information and I'm trying to tell him to stop talking because I haven't caught a single word they said, instead of stopping, kept going. I even screamed to stop and shut up, they kept talking. By the time he finally stopped, I was livid! I was trying to explain he wasted his breath because now I have to have him repeat it! He was agitated and of course I'm saying I can talk to their manager instead or we can do this another way. The follow up calls were better, but this has left such a sour taste in my mouth. I'm not even sure I want to go back to them. Now, he has proven to have worked hard to get my vehicle situated, so I am hoping it ends up being just a bad day on their part. I was greeted by Jeff in Customer Service, I informed him of the issues, he promptly had a diagnostic test performed,. Jeff informed me of the crack in the a/c compressor shaft, He also discovered the crack was covered under my warranty!! He also found 4 matching tires which were replaced with the original tires. The original tires were cupping which caused the excessive noise. Jeff is an exemplary example of the ultimate customer service! His friendly, professional, responsive attitude made it an ideal and stress free experience!! Thank you Jeff! Conklin is fortunate to have such an experienced and caring employee!

I then called the GM and he said he was the one that had put the price back to nearly what I was quoted. The reason I am giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the GM. His professionalism was much better then I received from the service manager. I don't feel my issue was resolved in the least, but it is what it is. I will definitely start writing down times, dates, and exactly who I talk to from now on....A learning lesson on my end.

Honest, accurate diagnosis to the real problem - NOT my transmission!…read more I was dead-sure that the transmission had gone in my 1998 Toyota Avalon, with 225,000 miles. When put into gear, it shuddered and jerked badly. AAA towed it to prevent further transmission damage. Chesre, the excellent mechanic, called back and said the transmission was just fine, but that the car's catalytic converter was plugged, making the engine gutless. He smelled the exhaust, which I'd overlooked. The basic problem, was a misfiring engine, letting raw gas into the catalytic converter, melting the pellets and plugging the exhaust. On the test drive, the engine could now breathe and perform. However, now a Check Engine light came on when pulling hard. He and I agreed that the OBDII codes pointed to multiple misfiring cylinders. Had we not replaced the plugs, coils, and wires, the slight misfires could or would have plugged the new catalytic converter. Cristal, the Customer Service Manager, kept in touch with us throughout the replairs. She knows cars, and is friendly and trustworthy Honest - Chesre didn't even suggest a transmission oil change at this time! Thanks, AAMCO! -Warren .
