I decided to Jimmy-rig the wind-gate to the bumper with tape so I could drive my truck to the dealer to buy a replacement part. I made it to the dealership safely, but they wanted $680 just for a new part (not including labor). They urged me to get it replaced before driving my truck back home to Nevada because the wind-gate helps to cool the engine. As a last ditch effort, I decided to go to AutoZone to see if they had any parts to help me replace the wind-gate on my own. However, AutoZone told me they don't carry any parts for new model trucks, but suggested I go to Napa Auto Parts. From the moment I walked into Napa Auto Parts, Dylan greeted me with a warm welcome. He listened to my issue and went outside in 102+ degree heat, got under my truck, and found a temporary solution to fix my problem so I can drive back home to Nevada. Dylan was absolutely fantastic and very friendly. Best of all, he didn't charge me a single penny. I am so incredibly thankful to Dylan and Napa Auto Parts for all they did to help me solve the issue. I honestly don't know what I would've done without their help. After chatting with Grant for a few minutes, he casually told me they could squeeze in a full set of tires on my F-150 by 5PM. I was skeptical... I showed up at 3:20 and saw 4 people ahead of me in line, so I mentally prepared to age a few years. But somehow, I was purchasing tires by 3:30 (with a factory rebate I didn't even know existed--bonus win). They told me my expected drive-out time was 4:56. Very specific... I appreciated the confidence. So I figured I had time. I went to the men's bathroom (which, by the way, was shockingly spotless--like, cleaner than my house), came back out, and before I could even text my wife "Hey, I'll be here a while," they told me my truck was DONE. It was 3:50. I said, "Wait... all four tires??" They said, "Yes sir--balanced and stems replaced." At that point, I was convinced there was a pit crew hiding in the back. The lobby was full, and somehow everyone was getting the same lightning-fast treatment. I even overheard a couple of other customers praising the speed like they'd just witnessed a magic trick.
