Located in a nature reserve, from the parking lot, walk down a small hill and pass a creek on the way to the restaurant. They also have a pottery store (items made onsite).
We arrived around 2:30 for a late lunch on Sunday. A small dining area (About 8 tables) with a rustic feel & looks like outside seating is nice during warmer months. The creek literally flows under the restaurant building.
A small menu with 3 entrees (one being the special of the day) we settled on the Hot Smoked Salmon & special of the day-Pytt i Panna (Swedish version of Corned Beef Hash). Both entrees were excellent!Intense flavors from both & perfect meals for an overcast, misty November day. They had
some wine, beer and soft drink selections.
For dessert, we ordered the Brownie and Apple Cake. Brownies stole the show with the decadent chocolate flavors. Coffee was bold and rich.
As mentioned, they have a Ceramics/pottery shop with many different items-from coffee & Glogg mugs to bowls. Prices are on the higher side reflecting "made here-Wallakra." They also have tours of the Ceramics factory and facilities. Conference and meeting facilities are also available.
Service was attentive & friendly. They were advertising for Julbord. An off the beaten path gem that looks to be enjoyable year round. read more
