It is huge and accommodates many activities and games within its parameters without bothering anyone. There are nice areas for the toddlers, pre-teen and exciting slides and games for the older kids and adults. The table area outside of the restaurant is very nice for a family or a couple to sit and eat or just have good ole conversation. It can also be a great place to take a reprieve from the sun. As a whole I have found most people to be very friendly and helpful. In matter of fact, I am disabled and have problems walking a distance with my cane.....sometimes parking can be really far away and I have found myself in past years just turning around and leaving. But......this year the owner saw me hobbling down the hill and stopped in his golf cart and told me to call anytime for him or someone to come and pick me up if I find myself in that situation again. I am sure that in the future I will take him up on his helpful offer so I can enjoy the fun within the gates of Pine Cove Swim Club. There are great pavilions to use for parties and get togethers and Pine Cove also offers extra activities on certain days for adults and children. I only have one negative thing to say about the grassy area where you place your blanket or chair - most of the area is on a steeper slope and finding a comfortable way to sit on your towel without toppling down the hill is a challenge. This also makes it hard to sit in a chair without sliding down, Minor excavation could help that. To solve this I try to get there early to get a lounge on the flat cement area by the pool, but these are few and hard to get. Another plus is being able to take your chair or inner tube and keeping it on the fence at the pool so you do not have to carry it back and forth all season. My opinion is I will be buying a pass to Pine Cove until I can not walk to get inside.....then I may come in a wheel chair. LOL. Isabelle S.

At 5 tried to order corn dogs. Was told the deep fryer was "turned off". Asked for soda. Was told they were all warm!!! Then asked life guard why the slide was not open & was told because they didnt have enough life guards. At 2 pm waited in line for tube. Was told maintenace was blowing up more. Why wouldnt all of them already be ready!!! It must be true that good help is hard to find! ‍ Wow!!!

Wave Tek is unique to the area as it's the only wave pool around. You can bring your own float or rent one of theirs to float on the waves. They also have a small waterslide. Since the slide is not to large, young children who haven't yet mastered swimming can still enjoy it. The chairs near the pool fill up quickly in the summer, so bring your own chair or a blanket. There are trees for shade located in the pool area as well. The concession stand has a decent selection of not-overpriced concession style food and treats.

Great state park about 1.5 hours southwest of Pittsburgh (near the West Virginia border). Went on…read morea hike with the Pittsburgh HIking Meetup group at this lovely park on a misty cool October Saturday. Jared with the park led our group on a 6 mile hike (of the total 13 miles they have) thru the park. He was very informative and a great host. Most paths were wide enough for several people across and the terrain was quite hilly, making for a great workout. We did encounter a couple deer on our outing and Jared indicated there are many wild turkeys in the park, as well. The park office had quite a bit of literature and they have a great map of the trails along with a great listing of the trails with their lengths in miles, total elevation, elevation gain, and difficulty level. There are restroom facilities at the park office (flushing toilets and sinks). Note that hunting and camping are also activities within the park boundaries.
