Tim and his wife have created one of the most unique businesses I've ever come across, all while being absolutely excellent, generous, and friendly people. With a passion for warmer climates and tasty food, Tim has managed to bring the tastes and sights of the Mediterranean to East Northamptonshire and pulled it off in fine style. For example, my wife and I used to enjoy a specific tortilla chip brand called Xochitl. We would pick up a bag and some fresh guacamole from Whole Foods on a Friday night with a pizza and relax with a movie and some wine. A few weeks ago, we stopped in here to pick up some cheese and crackers and were giddy (literally) to discover they now stock Xochitl tortilla chips! We pay a premium for them, but so worth it, and a mile from our house. Slowly but surely, everything is coming together for us here in England, haha. They offer some very high quality kiln-dried and seasoned firewood during the autumn and winter months. Tim alone can improve our mood with this wood keeping our house warm during the cold months. Best of all, it is walking distance from our house. On a nice warm summer day, stop in for a panini and salad in the garden, lean back with a mojito in the warm breeze and you will quite literally forget where you are. Not because of an excess of mojitos, but because the atmosphere created by the flora and fauna is that convincing. Ever-expanding to meet the needs and desires of the local community, they are now open on Friday evenings with live blues, pizza, and drinks in the restaurant. These three dudes playing the blues are pretty great, too. Makes for a nice date night with your lady or fella. We are so lucky to have a place like this in our area. Thanks guys, keep it up!

No longer available now a sub stAndard sandwich with next to no filling. Plenty of leaves but where was the turkey. We won't be back such a shame as it was a gem. NO LONGER GOOD. Chapmans is the best garden centre in the local area; there is a good variety of plants, shrubs and trees, which are reasonably priced and very healthy. The tree section in particular has a wide variety of plants, more impressive than most bigger garden centres. The members of staff are cheerful and helpful, and genuinely understand about the plants they are selling, which is a novelty for a garden centre! It also sells mainly plants and plant related products, rather than the myriad of 'tat' that most garden centres sell. The Topiary Tea Rooms is set in a small wooden building, but has a beautiful outlook onto a sun-soaked patio where wild birds feed very relaxing. They only serve drinks and cakes, but I would definitely recommend the cheese scones. As the weather steadily improves, I would heartily recommend Chapmans as a place to go to rejuvenate your garden.

If ever their is a problem with any plants there is never an issue with exchange, which I never had. Kevin is top guy, as is all the staff and their knowledge of all plants is so very helpful. Whenever we visit we always come away with some plant regardless of size, and most important for us, a great cup of tea / coffee and a lush scone or cake all home baked. What can I add " Well done staff and management at Chapmans " You won't be disappointed.

When we visited, it was a bit of a sad sight as they were selling off the remainders of Christmas stock, including bags upon bags of cinnamon scented pine cones. Although this was taking up much of the room and wasn't in the most organised of states, there were plenty of staff around and all seemed to have at least half a smile on their face. The cafe is of a good standard, though the tables and eating areas could have done with a quick wipe down. The cakes are something to behold, and the scone selection rather vast - however, I went for a sweet chilli chicken panini. You get one of those terrifying buzzer things which goes off when your food is ready, and I happily tucked in to the simple-yet-satisfying sandwich. Plants are available inside and outside, meaning you don't have to full venture out in to the wind and rain to pick up something to brighten your house or garden with. A Dobbies card will allow you certain discounts and the occasional free tea or coffee. A good place to wander around - and finally see some plants.
