Il conserve ainsi son originalité architecturale tout en étant doté d'équipements modernes. Il abrite aujourd'hui plus de 150 espèces de poissons et invertébrés du Golfe de Gascogne, un bassin des phoques à vision subaquatique, une grotte des squales et différentes collections de cétacés et d'oiseaux. Enfin l'aspect scientifique n'est pas négligé (océanographie, ethnographie, météorologie, géologie). Elle est caractérisée en haute-saison par des tentes de toiles colorées. Située au cœur de la ville, elle accueille l'été des centaines de plagistes de toutes nationalités. This is an outstanding service. there is a great…read moreselection of boards available for rent, an easy online reservation service, and easy coordination to get your board delivered to your hotel/vacation home. In my case, it was easier to pick my board up at the store and the exchange was flawless. Marty was busy at the times when i was at the shop, but he is friendly and personable regardless. Dude sounds like he has surfed all over the world, so i bet he is a great resource for planning your surf experience in France, but we had an agenda already. For the good quality board you get, the price of the rental is reasonable. I rented a ding-free 5-9 Firewire GoFish for a clean 3-4 foot (Hawaiian scale) swell. It was just a little bit surprising to have to pay for a bar of wax, but everyone has to make a living, so it is what it is. I do believe that if you are a serious surfer, for a hi-quality surf location like Biarritz/Hossegor you should bring your own gear, but Marty's selection allows for most people to get something close to what they would ride on their similar home breaks. Our trip involved different agendas and multiple stops in Europe and USA, so we could not travel with boards, and we are thankful that Marty's Surf Shop exists. FYI the shop is an easy straight shot 5-10 min town drive south from Cote de Basques.
