Beautiful well kept cemetery…read more WHEATON CEMETERY Taken from a plaque in the cemetery. "Wheaton Cemetery provides the final resting place for many individuals with ties to Wheaton. The Wheaton Cemetery Association formally incorporated February 14, 1857 by a special act of legislature. In 1861 the original three acre tract of land for the cemetery was acquired from Jesse C. Wheaton, by a combination of purchase and donation. As you make your way through the grounds, the history of Wheaton reveals itself in a tapestry of names, reminders of those who enriched our community through the years. Among those buried in these grounds are Wheaton's founding fathers: Erastus Gary (1806-1887), Jesse C. Wheaton (1813-1895), and Warren 1.. Wheaton (1812-1903). Artistic sculpted monuments create a beautiful memorial park as well as an enduring tribute to those buried here. The stately gray structure is the Gary Mausoleum, constructed by Elbert H. Gary in 1912 of granite from Barre. Vermont. The earliest section of monuments can be found in the front portion of the grounds, on and around the rise. It would appear I'm about to be the first…read more My stepfather passed away earlier this year and in the midst of helping my mother and sister make all the arrangements, I learned that Wheaton Cemetery was going to be Peter's final resting place along with my mother on day MANY MANY YEARS from now. We visited the cemetery the day before his wake and my mother showed my sister and I where they would be buried. I know it may be a bit morbid, but hey, we're not gonna live forever and if you think about it, a cemetery is something some, if not most, people will have to pick out at some point. Wheaton Cemetery is a small cemetery on Warrenville road off Roosevelt. It's a beautiful cemetery filled with old trees and truly beautiful scenery. It's an older cemetery near a residential area and located directly next to St. Michael's cemetery. If you're not careful, you may accidentally pull in the wrong place if you're heading here. From what I understand they have recently expanded their grounds and are opening up some more burial sites. I never really thought about where I wanted to ultimately end up but I know I want to be with my husband and I would love to be near my mother and/or sister if possible. Their pricing is quite reasonable from what I'm told and hoping that I have many, MANY years before I will actually require their services, I may look into a site at this cemetery one of these days. After all, my mom will be nearby and my stepdad, Pete, is already there waiting for the company.

Kapsa Monument Co did a beautiful monument for me and my late husband a few years ago and placed it…read morein a Hillside cemetery. The monument has a vase on each side. Recently one of the vases has become loose. I've tried to reach out to Kapsa a few times. No one ever answers the phone. I've left 3 messages in over a week and half stating my issue and asked for the favor of a reply. I've yet to hear back from Kapsa. This monument wasn't cheap. I've reached out to two other monument companies in the area in the meantime and they are willing to help but say Kapsa should stand behind their business and take care of this. If they can or can't, either way the courtesy of a reply is expected for such an expensive monument. I can't rate them good in the service area as they are non responsive.

Buyer beware. This place is absolutely awful. They will screw you on the contract and they are very…read moredisrespectful. They will intentionally and purposely omit IMPORTANT and KEY things from the contract, and this can screw you in the end. When I caught these items, owner refused to correct them. Here they are: 1.) They verbally said that ALL inscriptions and design are included in the price, but when you get the contract it does not say this, and when you ask the owner to add, he refuses. Don't ever sign the contract unless they clearly write in text that ALL inscriptions and design are included in the headstone price, just like they verbally say. 2.) Draft of the drawing, design, and inscriptions was not attached. How else will you know what the heck you are getting?!?!? Don't accept without this! 3.) Full names of the deceased were omitted. This contract is also combined into the application for the cemetery. Are we just trying to get the cemetery office to guess? 4.) Memorialist didn't sign the cemetery contract on the back, which is required before you can even place any headstone in the cemetery. The cemetery has its own rules which we all have to agree to. We don't own the cemetery. These are all normal procedures for all cemeteries. 5.) Approximate date of delivery was missing. You can't just put a season like spring or summer. The owner was very disrespectful. When trying to resolve this in a calm manner, he talked over me. I tried talking to the owner nicely on the phone, but all he did was hang up on me. Avoid this business, and go to others in the area that will: actually put in writing what they say verbally, are willing to actually fill out a contract completely, and treat you with respect. After all, if you are paying them thousands of dollars for a headstone, I would think that you would at least have the above taken care of. This place is absolutely awful. STAY AWAY.

Instead, our family left feeling disregarded and deeply disappointed by the way we were treated. Our experience with Andrew Brunsen was particularly upsetting. There was no genuine warmth, no welcoming greeting, and very little effort to engage with or acknowledge the family during what was an incredibly painful time. His demeanor made family members feel as though we were an inconvenience rather than people who were grieving the loss of someone we loved. What was especially troubling was the difference in how people were treated depending on who was paying for the arrangements. The person responsible for making the payment was treated with courtesy and attention. The other family members did not receive that same level of consideration or respect. That contrast was impossible to overlook and made an already heartbreaking experience even more upsetting. A funeral home should understand that this is not an ordinary customer-service interaction. Families walking through the door are often dealing with shock, grief, and an enormous amount of emotion. We were not looking for special treatment. We were looking for basic compassion, patience, and human decency. Instead, our family experienced an interaction that felt transactional and dismissive. There was a striking absence of the compassion and grace that should be fundamental to this profession. I sincerely hope this experience is taken as an opportunity for reflection. Families in mourning deserve to be treated with dignity regardless of who is signing the check.
