I checked some of the other upscale travel outfits like Travcoa and Tauck, and their cancellation policies are far more reasonable. So forewarned is forearmed!! When considering adventure travel, there are companies that offer the same trips at the same level of service as A&K, but if you cancel, say 10 months in advance of the trip (as in my case), you won't lose half of your deposit, which for me was $1000.
