Ah Friday nights! What they used to be for me. While the rest of ya'll are all too cool to write, review or post anything on a Friday night here on Yelp, lest you be seen as someone sitting alone in a room, pecking away on a laptop, yes a laptop, for there is no coming back from that, not here, not now, not at this time, not with this thing, this inter-net thing going on here now. Millions of eyes (okay, maybe tens of eyes...No?...Okay ten eyes, staring at these here words and thinking what a poor lonely soul, this Billy Joe, yammering on before he can even start a review about Walgreens on a Friday night? What kinda loser goes to Walgreens on a Friday night?) Well, this loser went to Walgreens, but he went with purpose and adorned with the dashing style and pizazz of the same t-shirt and shorts that he had been wearing upon his body for some consecutive days, never you mind the undergarments! And never you should ask! For this one Billy Joe, set forth on foot from his car in the parking lot to the front glass doors of this establishment, and though his car was parked in place, let it be noted here that he was still a driven individual. Yes, for a Nestle Chunky bar was the order of this night (and this knight, for that matter) and this, this Wal of Greens is but one of a lonely few (as lonely as Billy Joe was in this endeavor) dealers of such a guilty of pleasure. And deal this Chunky Bar, this one dealer did so and did so very well. For, they offered but two sizes, and Billy Joe went for but the largest most magnificent, most brilliant of sizes, in fact, like one of those football ruffians, he went for two. And he even swiped a book written upon parchment telling tales of natural remedies in curing one's castle of pests. As he approached his iron horse named Mazda in the same spot as had been left, so loyal this Mazda, in the parking lot. that the spirits continued to rise, and as did Billy Joe's good fortunes in the form of song, as the long version of "Paid In Full" by Eric B, and Rakim was still playing on the Mazda's voice box upon Billy Joe's valiant return to the master and commander's chair. No greater truth that on an eve of such as this, it was once great tradition for Billy Joe to "throw down" at a club, discotheque, or tavern on a splendid great many Fridays of the past, however for now, and for many a fortnight to come, Billy Joe will socially subsist on late-night, weekend runs, to this maker of medicinal potions and elixirs, to retrieve what magic lies beneath the tin-foil wrapper of a Nestle Chunky Bar located in the candy aisle in not one but two sizes. And for that, my good ten friends, Billy Joe's fortunes shall be paid in full. read more

Dysfunctional, unreliable and ineffective pharmacy: I placed refill of ongoing prescription from Walgreens by phone on Tuesday, system accepted and informed me would be ready on Thursday. I went to pharmacy to pick up prescription on Friday, "technician" informed me no record of prescription refill in the system at all. When I asked how could that be, she responded, "I can't tell you why the system did what it did." I spoke to manager by phone who told me the system "had a glitch on Tuesday", that's why there is no record of my prescription refill. He continued saying he spoke to pharmacy and I could pick up my prescription now. I drove to pick up my prescription for the second time the following day and was told by technician or pharmacist at window there was no record of prescription again, furthermore even though I had placed request before expiration, the scrip was now expired and there was no way they could fill it. That would have been my last refill on the scrip and it's the weekend now, can't even contact the Dr office for a new scrip. read more

Always count your medication they short ppl medication and basically call you a liar when you bring it to their attention. Will also take 2 months to contact you only because you stayed on them. read more

This is the slowest pharmacy on the planet. Usually it takes them 15-20 minutes per person if the prescriptions are ready to be picked up. I may never understand the struggle of looking someone's name up on a computer, walking over to an alphabetized filing system , getting the prescription, handing it to the person and collecting money for the prescription. My mother refuses to change pharmacies, so I am cursed to walk this path. You still have time to choose so turn back now. I was third in line when I started typing this 30 minutes ago. I'm currently second in line now. The car in front of me has probably already resorted to cannibalism. read more

Horrible customer service. I had surgery and it took 6 hours to get my prescriptions. Needless to say I was in severe pain by the time I got my meds. Then they had left one prescription out and my handicap husband had to make another trip to the. read more

Terrible customer service. All employees rude from the min you walk in . Terrible location.

All the employees are courteous but some seem to be unhappy and don't smile. I totally appreciate being able to buy grocery items along with medicine,makeup and what ever else I need at a pharmacy. read more

The biggest draw is its central location on Youree. Otherwise, it is a fairly standard (though very big) Walgreens. read more

I've used this pharmacy twice in the past few weeks and have been super impressed with how they treat their customers and how efficient they are. It's a popular place but I'm willing to wait or at least go back at a less busy time just to deal with nice people who are looking out for me. Sooooo, I talked to someone there w an Asian accent. I was calling about a pain medication I take. I'm in pain care; have been for 20 plus years. I guess he was too busy to be nice , polite or courteous. He puts me on hold for a couple of minutes, comes back and tells me ; We don't have any in stock , AND HANGS UP. NO GOODBYE , thank you , kiss my foot,etc. I was going to ask him to check other stores. But that never happened. This is , was and forever will be , I hope , my last foray w Walgreens. It's a wonder this chains even still open. oh well , God bless him just the same. One never knows what another persons going through. However, I'm in customer service. This best decision I made was to change my Walgreens location from Mansfield/Bertkouns to Youree/ Southfield. The customer service is AMAZING! Everyone is super friendly. Pharmacy tech Chasity is my favorite. I highly recommend this location if your looking for a change! read more

Absolutely disgusted with this place. Husband had surgery for a work injury. Went to get prescriptions filled. Woman at counter laid them down. Waited 45 minutes. Went back. "Not ready" He called workers comp handler. Nothing had been sent to them! Went back to pharmacy to find out not only had the prescriptions never been touched or looked at, but then she said, " oh, we don't have that medicine!" Those of you who have had surgery understand that you just want to go home and lay down. We will not only never use this location, but will be avoiding Walgreen's altogether. read more

Honestly it's the worst service I've ever had. I asked for help so many times to print a photo, and the lady was looking ugly to me the whole time. We ended up leaving with no help. Don't ever expect a good customer service from this place. read more

Do not get the vaccine here!! Terribly unorganized, no one is going out of their way to make this process friendly. Place seems dirty. Did I mention unorganized?!? We did CVS last week for one of my daughters and it took 4 minutes. We've had appointments at both places. This is unreal. read more

I have recently had to transfer my prescriptions from one pharmacy to another because mine closed. The few times I have had to get my meds it has been a displeasing experience to say the least. The first time I was told that I had no meds there. They finally found them. The second time my doctor had to call 2 times and then had to speak directly with the Pharmacist to refill my prescription. Again, they said I didn't have one. The third time was today when I received a text message stating that I had a med that needed a refill. When I called them to find out what it was they wouldn't tell me. Now, why can I call in a refill on my own with my date of birth and name but they cant tell me which med needs to be refilled. They sent it to my phone. Said I would have to come in and find out. I will be transferring my meds once again. Thanks for nothing Walgreens on Southfield! read more

I was really upset about my sons anti-seizure medication. We were having difficulty reaching his doctor and, on Monday, the tech at Walgreens said his Rx had run out. After 3 days and no word from his doctor, he took his last dose and we went to Walgreens and asked for their help. Luckily, we got an angel at the consultation window! She scoured his record and found an unfilled prescription. She filled it for us and was so kind while I was near panic! I know from experience that, if he misses one dose, he has a seizure. **WARNING** If you take a controlled substance DO NOT use the pharmacy at Walgreen's on Southfield Road in Shreveport. We live out of town and got a prescription filled after going to the doctor. After we left we opened the bottle and they shorted exactly half of the prescription. 45 out of 90 of the pills were not there. While we do blame ourselves for not checking before we left the store, we trusted the employees to do their job and be careful ESPECIALLY with a controlled substance. After calling and waiting on hold for 30 minutes while they counted their inventory they told us that they were not over on their count. Not sure how you can give someone half of a prescription and not be over in your count...unless someone pocketed them. They told us there is nothing they can do but give a refund and told us to call the doctor and see if we can get another prescription (we'll see how well that goes over). Not trying to be "ugly" but I wanted to warn others. People can truly struggle from not having the medication they are prescribed and it is not something to be taken lightly. Also asked if they could check cameras or do anything to find out what happened and the manager said there are not cameras over the filling station, just the cash register. Sounds like something that needs to be changed to me. I do know to pour out meds on the counter and count them in front of the pharmacy now. (Not that we would ever go back here) It's an unfortunate situation and out of our control but I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. read more

If I could give a negative 1000 I would this is the worst Walgreens as far as customer service I came Sunday night around 10pm on 11/25/ 2018 and there was a black girl with braids and a beauty mark above her lip with the worst attitude ever. She did not honor a coupon when it clearly stated what items could be used. She said it's not the one in the picture if she had some type of intelligence she would have read the coupon. I had used the coupon on the same item at a different location. Her was repsponse was well you got a different cashier. She did not even try to scan the coupon or anything. Starting catching an attitude when we confronted her about it she responded with you haven't seen attitude yet. She is the true definition of ghetto. It's a shame she met every black stereo type with that attitude. The manager did nothing about it either. Oh I'm sorry and had a smirk. I decided to not buy anything. It's a shame cause I actually was with a manager from another Walgreens. I will never go back to this Walgreens again. read more
