I have to say this is my favorite Walgreens and it is farther from my house but worth it. The employees care. From cashier to beauty department and they have gotten to know me. But I am writing about a special pharmacist named Matt. He has been with the company for years and I highly trust him, my BP pills had been changed to another generic company. The pills were bigger and they were making me sick. I had other pharmacists not even try to get my original pills back but Matt made an effort and it worked And have been taking them and Now am feeling better. I hope Matt never leaves , he is very knowledgeable too. I never got to meet face to face but only through a couple phone calls. I was lucky to get him because he went out of his way and kept his promise he would know on the following Monday. I am happy to feel better thanks to him, he should get a raise. Sometimes the info you get on the website isn't accurate, but this time it was! There are few ATM's that accept cash deposits for my bank. But I was pleasantly surprised that this time, it worked. What a horrible experience. A lot of key items are locked up requiring you to request an attendant to come and unlock the section where your item is, but most isles don't have a button to push! The pharmacy was also horrible- all we needed was an over the counter decongestant that can only be obtained through the pharmacy. We waited along with four other patrons in line for over 10 minutes while we watched pharmacists prep orders and completely ignore the people there in person. I'm shifting more of my scripts to online a pharmacy and ordering more things I would typically buy in a pharmacy to online. Normally we don't have any issues with this location. My mom gets her RX filled here. We came here for my mom to get her Covid shot & Flu Shot. The lady pharmacist tried to give her the incorrect Covid shot. She kept on saying it was ok caused the one she tried to give was a better brand. I insisted on the Covid brand that I originally ordered due to the fact my mom is near her 80's & has not had any issues w/ the other brand. The RX then said it would be another 40 min wait to change it in the computer. I told her that was fine since we had already waited 45 minutes before being called upon. I've purchased from this Walgreens location a few times simply because it's on the way home from my job, so it's convenient for me to grab stuff like cigarettes, hair spray, etc. either before or after work. I don't use their pharmacy though. I've never had an issue at this Walgreens. The staff has always been helpful and pleasant. They always take the time to help me find the item I'm looking for. The only complaint I'd have is that they usually only have one person at the register, and sometimes the line can feel like it takes forever even if there's only 3 people waiting on line. If I'm late to work, it can be annoying, but that's mostly my fault for being late. Inside is clean, but the outside parking lot feels pretty dirty. read more

I have been going here for about 10 years now. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge Matt the pharmacist. I have seen some negative stuff here on yelp and just wanted to speak up for him. Matt is a reserved professional. It may seem as though he comes off as ho hum,but believe me when i tell you that he has always gone above and beyond to help me and when my father was alive,him as well. As we all know pharmacys are hives of activity and the people working there are under constant pressure to perform and do it pleasantly. The next time you need something from them , just try to be patient and friendly,perhaps you or them can be more accommodating to one another. With that said , the reason for the 4 star rating is that over the years they have had some very rude people working there, no matter how nice i was. several times i had to get the manager of the store involved,which was effective in getting done what i needed. too bad it had to escalate for no reason ,other than some people should not be working front of the house, perhaps their talents lay in somewhere in the back where they dont come in contact with customers. The issues were handled by the same manager, she was very good at getting things done, i cant remember her name but she was like in her early 40's with long dark hair. sorry , i dont remember your name,next time im in i will get it and come back here to give it to all of you. ( edit:ok her name is charlene, :) so, the bottom line is this, you get more bee's with honey, and yes occassionally you run into angry bees lol, but just try and be patient and set up all of your needs in advance by calling ahead so you dont have to wait around, at least i like to do it that way, im all about doing things respectfully and efficiently. The level of rudeness and lack of accountability for the pharmacy manager is ridiculous. I have used this Walgreens for 12 years, faithfully and unfortunately since the new manager has taken over, my medication is always late and never ready because she refuses to fill or order it until the day it's due. I go for to my doctor every month and receive my prescriptions at the same time to be submitted although now I am a month behind on one medication because she will not order it until day it's to be filled which puts it anywhere from 2-6 days later. Then she tells me it's my fault because I am putting the order in early... which I am not because I have to get my prescriptions at the same time as my doctor visit. Being disabled, I do not have time to run to doctors office every week for each individual prescription. Matt and the previous staff were always excellent and beyond professional and efficient although (I believe her name was Harmony?) was so rude and condescending on the phone that i will likely after 12 years leave this Walgreens for the one on Desert Inn or go CVS. Walgreens, you need to address all these complaints on this specific pharmacist. You are destroying the trust of your patients. read more

I have been to other Walgreen locations. This particular location could use some improvement on customer service, especially in their pharmacy area. But I wouldn't say it's bad service or else I would never come back here. Oddly enough, I actually come to this very location because of the proximity to my home and the mere fact that I can get Hawaii made products here. Now not all locations have Hawaii products, but if they do, there's a whole freezer section and even more in the soda aisle. And although it may seem a little overpriced, it saves me time from having to go to Chinatown or Henderson. If you happen to be in the area, the Maryland Pkwy location has poi every Thursday. Today, I was a little disappointed that they had just one box of Zippy's Chili, one kamaboko, and no S&S Saimin. But it figures as the weather is cooling down, HI-peeps are stocking up on comfort-food. I guess i'm not the only girl from Oahu who does her shopping here. read more

Never use this pharmacy. They are rude and don't care about you at all. I've gotten my prescriptions from there for 10 years and my Dr. called some prescriptions to another pharmacy without my permission but to help me because they deliver for free. We'll now Walgreens refuses to fill my prescription. They said they're going to cancel it and I can no longer get my prescriptions there again! I have been going to Walgreens on 9300 Sahara for a couple of years and have never had any problems with my prescriptions. I was recently diagnosed with cancer and had to have surgery, my husband went to Walgreens to get my medicine and they gave him such a hard time. asking him why I did not go and pick up the medicine myself. he told them that I had just come out of the hospital and they said it was no excuse. pharmacist was extremely rude to him even asking him why our last names were different! seriously? we have been married for 35 years and I have never used my husbands last name but because a pharmacist doesnt want to give him my medicine I am supposed to change it? the dr even wrote it in the notes that my husband would be picking up the prescription and they still made him wait for over an hour. will definitely be changing pharmacies. read more

I went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription. I advised the clerk of my new insurance. He looked it up and it turns out it was medical and not prescription. I told him I was going to step out of the line while I called my husband for the pharmacy card so he could help other customers. In a very loud and condescending tone he said, "Pst,its only ¢15". The pharmacy here is a joke. Every time a prescription gets sent here it takes hours to fill it. Even if I show up to wait on it. I also get alerts my meds are ready and when I show up they aren't. Today I called at 5:11 to ask for flavoring in my daughter's medicine and was told no problem but it would be an hour to an hour and a half to get it filled. 2 hrs later just after 7 and after going in to ask if it was ready yet we finally get a text that it's ready... go to the counter and nope not ready oh and they had filled the one but didn't flavor it so it was going to take at least 15 more minutes. Every single time it is something. It's time for me to move on! I've been to many Walgreens Pharmacy's in many different states and none have been this horrible. Hope you won't need to transfer a prescription due the high prices at Walgreens because that will take their sweet time giving your prescription any attention. After comparing prices online, we found our prescription was approximately $28 dollars cheaper at VONS pharmacy. When we arrived at VONS, the pharmacy technician said she could not get an answer at the from the telephone number provided by Walgreens. On our way out, we called Walgreens to get our prescription transferred and we're on hold the entire drive back to Walgreen plus the time it took us to reach the front of the Pharmacy line. We were told that the Pharmacist was too busy giving COVID-19 vaccinations. How long would it take to make that call??? Let's hope the next trip to Walgreens ends on a better note. read more

I LOVED this pharmacy and have used it for 3 years. The app, shipping etc. but it's really started changing the past year, so much so that my hubby wanted to change pharmacies for all the games they played with him for a simple script. But now I will be switching and I will NEVER use Walgreens again. I kept calling management to no avail. I finally gave up and just called to find out about my scripts that I came home to as cancelled. Evidently they flagged my acct and a man gets on the phone and rips me a new one. Walgreens has become the worst Pharmacy in the city because of the Pharmacy customer service. They make you wait on the phone 25- 40 minutes on the phone & in the dtive thru. & their excuse is they are short handed. The pharmacy help are totally rude and incompetent. I've been at this pharmacy a very long time. Every time, it's a super long wait at the drive thru line and impossible to get a hold of. I've spent at least 40minutes waiting for my call to be picked up. But each time, I come back because it's just a pharmacy. I just need my medication and I don't come often anyways. But tonight, I've had enough. I spoke with someone on the phone about my prescription and they said they can get it ready as long as I get there by 6. I get there by 5:57 and the drive thru line is closed. I park and run inside and 30 seconds after I lined up, the man says "We're closed. We can't help you". Are you kidding me. There's a man in front of me, me, & another lady behind me. The man in front of me was helped and I got lucky to be talking to the man that just said they were closed. I explained to him that the man I spoke with told me my prescription is ready and to be here by 6. And the man I was speaking to said, "BEFORE 6, NOT AFTER". Wow. Where is the compassion? I understand they're overworked and understaffed and that's why they closed at 6pm instead of 9pm. But that doesn't mean you should lose your compassion for people. And I was there before 6. He didn't say they were closed until AFTER I was in line so TECHNICALLY, he should have helped me. It's a pharmacy. I'm not there to buy candy that I am craving. I am there to pick up antibiotics for my very sick husband and child. I'm not there for fun. It's important for us to get our medicine and to not even be shown any kind of compassion is beyond me. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would give them a negative 5. I am not here to talk about the actual company but their Pharmacy. For the last 4 months one of my medications has been delayed at least a week every month, some months more. I call in to get it filled, they don't have it in stock and supposedly order it. I have found out a couple of the months they never ordered it so when I call the day they say there are going to have it. The realize it was never ordered. On another occasion they kept saying they need doctor approval, when I contact my insurance and doctor they have on file that they have doctor approval till July 2017. After I contact the pharmacy and they look into it they finally say I can get my medication, but since they don't have it in stock they have to order it. I was dealing with them for 4 days and not once did they think to look to see if they have it in stock, yet again delaying my medication. I was there one night and a man was getting a refill and he said his pills looked different and they found out they gave him 80mg NOT 8mg. I am glad nothing happened to that man but that is a huge difference. I know you are thinking why not go to another pharmacy? Well certain medications won't be accepted at other locations unless I am already and established patient. Trust me I have tried. So after getting off the phone with the pharmacy mgr, Moana, I have now come to the fact I have to call in the morning to get my medication filled and ordered if need be. THEN if they have to order it I have to call before 3pm to make sure that it is on their list to order so I know it is being ordered. Like I said STAY AWAY from here. I did not check for grammar nor did I leave my real name but I'm sure that anyone employed at this Walgreen's pharmacy will know who I am -- I come to this Walgreens only for prescriptions and have been coming here for about 10 years. I have a very rare genetic disorder that affects my spinal cord and cluster of nerves, which then affect the neurology in my entire body and every organ. I do take some controlled substances and it's always awkward coming to pick them up. Firstly, Matt, the resident pharmacist is always very reserved, unfriendly, stand of-ish and condescending. The one or two times I asked for his advice he was rude and didn't want to speak to me like a knowledgeable pharmacist and just refused to answer anything that had to do with controlled substances. Every time I bring my scripts or there is a change or an increase in something, he specifically, treats me like a drug addict. I understand that there "is a crack down" on pain medication (which is just a hammer word for the fact that all responsibility of the usage and effects of theses meds falls on the patient and everyone else just tosses accountability like a hot potato to us) and that no one wants to lose their license and because of this they make people feel like addicts. I've been in pain management for 6 years and on pain/nerve medication for 10 years and have never given anyone even the slightest notion that I am an at risk patient and they look at you, speak with you and hover over like you are one. Yesterday, 12/28, I had to bring in a new script from a new pain management doctor and this Slavic substitute pharmacist said how she will call my regular pain doctor to verify as well as my new doctor; and she kept repeating that as if my watermarked script is fake and as if this new doctor doesn't have access to the medical network of information about me like every other doctor in the state. Really? You didn't ask me if I am okay with you providing and releasing to them my new medical information, even though I just told her I switched doctors. I asked her to not call my previous doctor because I am "firing them next week" and I have already found a new doctor. She looked at me like I was being shady as foock. I told her I need to speak to my doctors in person because I am ending my relationship with them and I don't want my pharmacist to be the one to surprise them with this on the phone and it is a respectful thing to to do after 5 years or treatments. AND on top of that I am doing this because of HOW this clinic treated my pharmacist! Not because of me, but because I deeply care about the relationships I maintain that have to do with my health!! I asked her to wait for me to call and confirm when I'm done with this process. She and the tech were just looking at one another as if I am trying to scam someone. Like, really? I'm so sick of these fucking people. I am absolutely tired of being treated like an addict even tho I am probably the 1% of people in treatment who work very actively on making sure I cycle meds and supplements, which eliminate all adverse effects of opioids. One time Matt actually took it upon himself to JUDGE me and the meds I'm taking. "You're too young to be on these meds." Really?? No fucking shit, man. How is it any of YOUR business or your place to say that to me? Did you ever stop to talk to me? You alone have have been seeing me around for at least 4 years. Do you know WHY I take these meds? Do you know I have a condition that only 1 neurosurgeon in the COUNTRY can operate? Did you know that I can have a stroke or a hemorrhage literally any day, at any time? Did you know I have not been able to work for TWO years now because I can barely pull my pants down to use the toilet? Did you know that unlike others I do not take disability and try to be as little of a burden on tax payers as I can? Did you know that my specialists let me (and other pain patients) double up doses of pain meds on days I can't lift a fork to my mouth or pick up a phone; and because of this I sometimes run out a few days too soon and I don't make this anyone else's problem or ask for higher doses? It's a normal process that happens every single day. But you think it's appropriate to make these comments and to decide for me what is too much or not enough? Or to deny release of my meds AFTER insurance pays for it. Why? Because you know me better than my doctor or I do? You know me or my treatments and pain I have to deal with 24/7? It is by far the most disrespectful thing every month. Just fake smiles and judging eyes. I am looking for an independent pharma now. After yesterday, I've absolutely reached my limit. Matt should be a construction worker, or mall security, not a person who is a liaison between people and their health line, that prick. It is shocking for people to not experience kindness or a relationship with their pharmacy. read more

Avoid this Walgreens. I went in to buy a bag of candy and a can of beer. The stupid cashier at the front says she cant ring up alcohol cause shes underage. Sends ne to cosmetic counter where i waited 10 minutes cause the idiot cashier there had a customer who mid transaction goes back to pick out more stuff. Instead of canceling what she rung up and ringing up my 2 items since that customer was not ready and still shopping says to me..."oh if u cant wait go to the pharmacy to ring u up". I take my 2 items and go to the 3rd counter they sent me to and the pharmacist says "i cant ring up alcohol". Wtf. Im sure next he woulda said go to the photo counter. right?! And still no one can ring up one can of beer. Idiots. They should all be fired and the mgr that hired them too. Boycott. read more
