If you are visiting Columbia and want to eat like a local, you gotta try Omega's. This place is the…read moreopposite of fancy: mismatched tables and chairs, no real decor to speak of, drink cases and refrigerators along one wall. It's 100% about the food. Go to the window and place your order from the menu that changes daily. It's kind of like a meat-and-three where you choose your entree and side dishes from a short menu. We haven't had anything from here that was bad, but the standouts include the chicken and dumplings, whiting fish, and oxtail. Fried items are fried fresh; they don't sit in a steam table abdcget mushy. The sides are made from scratch and don't forget the strawberry cake for dessert! Prices are affordable and carryout is an option. Check Facebook for their daily menu. We used to live in Columbia but we moved away over a year ago. We came back for our first visit and Omega's was our first priority for lunch. We're here for just a couple more days and we may very well go back.
