If you arrive prior to check in they will hold your bags. At check in we were provided with the key and walked up 2 flight of stairs to our room. They did not have an elevator which was not a problem for us. Our room had two beds pushed together with fluffy pillows and a nice feather comforter. We had a balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. The bathroom was smartly decorated with all the necessary amenities, such as gel, shampoo and hair dryer. There was plenty of room to store luggage and closet space. Breakfast was outstanding. Each morning we were taken to our table which was very inviting. There was a basket with fresh rolls, cheese spread, and spreadable liverwurst. She had 2 stations which had an excellent selection of fresh coldcuts and wonderful smoked salmon. At the other station was a selection of fresh fruit, yougert, rolls, muffins and hard boiled eggs. This breakfast was plentiful but also very elegantly done. I look forward to staying here again.

We were starving and decided to stop in out of desperation, something which typically never leads to a good meal. But what a gem we found! Man, these guys are making some of the best wienerschnitzel I've ever had (and I've had quite a few in my day). They had this dish called wienerschnitzel "gypsy style", which absolutely rocked. You get a sizzling hot schnitz served with a truly eloquent hot pepper sauce, fried potatoes, dumplings, and salad. It was an amazing meal and the portions, in typical German style, were gigantic. Service was impeccable but it was a bit of a tough slog to communicate with their crew since they literally spoke zero English. No worries though, randomly pick something off the menu and enjoy!

Beds were comfortable and had plug sockets in very use to reach/use places. We were here to race around the Nurburgring so didn't make use of any other facilities apart from to sleep. If you want to park your car in their garage, it's €20 a night but there is a free car park across the road which was fine. They did have scaffolding outside the front of the hotel which was fine until the morning that we were leaving-they started to dismantle it very early which was crazy as it must of woken people up who were staying on the from of the hotel. A decent stay none the less.

I had the feeling they try to keep it a bit High end! There's a really cool bar with lots of posters, signed all over, some memorabilia and really cool bar stools. The hallway is full of pictures, you get the feeling you're in a museum. If you're into Motorsport and visit the Ring, this is the place to stay. Overall a good hotel, with good service, a bit expensive though! The breakfast buffet is the best i've ever had in Europe. Also as i was there, the Restaurant was full of racing drivers, (that weekend was a Porsche Driving School event) I can imagine on F1 week this must be just awesome. The only thing i couldn't understand is how such a nice & expensive Hotel didn't have free Wifi, shame on you Dorint! I don't know if that has changed since i was there for the last time, but if not it's really embarrassing after what you pay here. I can't stop getting angry about that and Card acceptance in Europe.

The location is great during peak travel season since it's quieter than the riverside hotels, etc., which can get noisy. There is parking available, within a short distance from the Villa. We used a TomTom GPS, and it found a way through the narrow one-lane streets, and parking was nearby after dropping luggage. The owners are nice, helpful, and accommodating. We had a pleasant stay, and we enjoyed a local Mosel wine from the kitchen when we returned to our room. Don't let the narrow streets scare you...you'll get there...just take it slow and watch the pedestrians. The rooms could use a fan during the summer, especially the upper rooms with only one side of windows, thus no cross-ventilation, such as the Moseltal (spelling?) room. Moseltal is nearly unbearable sleeping without a fan during summer. Even the lower rooms could use one when it's warm outside.

That's what I used and they were on the top three places to stay in Cochem. I had booked four rooms for my family, because majority of the hotel consisted of one two person beds. We were situated on two floors. One on the level above the cafe and the others on the top floor. Every room we had was amazing! All rooms were spotless and had the best views around. The owner (front desk guy) was very nice and welcoming. He spoke very good English and German (of course!). The hotel is perfectly placed. It is walking distance to: The Bridge (across the Mosel) Good Restaurants and Shops Center of Town (Town Square) Taxi Stop (of which can take you to the castle up on the hill or the train station) The Cafe under the hotel was great and I would refer you to TripAdvisor and my other review of Cafe Germania, here on Yelp. The breakfast was very good and I highly recommend the Weingelee (Wine Jelly). It was some of the best I've ever had! I would also recommend trying out the ice cream place next door. It is on the right when facing the front of the Hotel/Cafe. Would I recommend this place? Yes I would! I am definitely coming back to this place if I can!
