Up a hill, just off the centre of the city, this is a large traditional looking German brewery, but with beers certainly well above the average. A lovely glass roofed area is located to the side, where you can enjoy whatever is happening outside and in the sky.
Their 8% Bock was my favourite. Initially it was not so obvious how strong it was, but it left a feeling in the mouth not unlike i had just drank a shot of some spirit or other. Their Pilsner and Schwarzbier were also very good.
We enjoyed some foods. Bread with onions and cheese au gratin, a pretzel with cream cheese and some kind of potato dish. We were very happy with what we had.
