I saw Rob Newman a while back here and it was a pleasant enough evening. Perhaps a little lacking in atmosphere: the general vibe is of a further education college lecture theatre, rather than a professional theatre providing paid entertainment. Newman himself was fabulous, scabrous, ferocious on his chosen subject of the primacy of oil in the motivations of our 'betters', i.e. politicians - not just in recent years but going back centuries.
The facilities were somewhat wanting as far as food and drink were concerned, but no-one was really complaining as the show was so good. Although I'm still not sure if Newman's piteous pleas for a lift home at the end of the night were serious or not read more
