        We provide up-to-date information and trip-planning services for travelers coming to Eastern Alberta. Our local history Museum is 14 rooms, housed in a historic train station. In particular we are known for the bison and military displays. There are Scavenger Hunts and "I Spy" games in English or French for the kids travelling with you. Don't forget to stop in the gift shop for Wainwright souvenirs! Be aware our listed hours are for May-August only. From September-December, visit us on weekends between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

      Located 1 km east of Vegreville on Highway 16A, the Vegreville Regional Museum is deceptively…read morelarge. I walked into a building that I thought was one room with some historical information about the town's background, with a few souvenirs for sale, and ended up going into room after room of displays and information. Most of the exhibits deal with the history and growth of the twon - industry, health (there are separate areas for both dentistry and nursing), business, and an entire room devoted to Donald Mazankowski, who was a Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. Sports buffs will definitely want to check this place out, as it also houses the Vegreville and District Sports Hall of Fame, which takes up an entire room and extends into a separate room in the basement, filled with jerseys, trophys, and information about popular sports in the area. Outside, a lot of classic farm equipment is on display. Admission is by donation, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you go to Vegreville to see the big Easter egg, definitely check out the museum also. It's just a short drive away and very interesting.
