This review is based upon the experience my mother endured in this Home, plus the latest CQC report dated 27/01/16 which found the home to be "inadequate" (the worst rating possible) and placed it in "special measures". Three of the six statutory regulations they were found to be breaching, leave the Management / Owners liable to criminal prosecution.
This is what you may expect if you leave your vulnerable loved one in this place -
Service is not safe. Medicines not managed or administered safely. Not enough staff to meet resident's needs. Risks to resident's not managed and minimised effectively.
The service is not consistently effective. Staff training is ineffective in providing them with the knowledge and skills to deliver safe and appropriate care.
The service is not consistently caring and resident's dignity and respect is not upheld.
The service is not responsive. People do not receive support as identified in their care plans. Boredom, no meaningful activity and stimulation. No access to a complaints procedure.
Poor and ineffective Management. Leading to a service that cannot improve and a culture that is not open and transparent.
In 2013 Suffolk County Council temporarily stopped using this Home for State funded residents following a CQC inspection. The service has not improved.
Would I recommend this Home? Never. Would you recommend a Home in which the CQC found a resident literally starving, unable to communicate? Is this not the epitome of a cruel and uncaring environment?
