Hello, Folks I went back to this Waffle House today and was surprised to see that things had improved. The Manager Mr. TY was cleaning the griddles and using a grill brick as it should be. The Waffle irons were clean and they didn't over fill them. I ordered HashBrowns with grilled onions and Sweet Tea. They were cooked properly though the onions could have used more time on the griddle. I was still pleased to see an improvement. I hope they keep it up. Thanks to the Manager Mr. TY. read more

I'm giving 5 stars for the breakfast in my picture. Food, service, and price were all perfect. I went to Jackson to take two tests that are required for me to apply for my state contractor's license. I had 7 hours of testing with only 5 minutes allowed for a break the whole day. I planned ahead to make sure I had some good food in my stomach so that my mind would work right, and I couldn't have made a better choice. This meal contributed to me passing both tests on my first try, and now I'm a licensed contractor! I bring this up because all too often, we underestimate the importance of meals. And sometimes we take lightly of it when others complain. Sometimes a meal is nothing more than temporary relief from hunger, but other times meals are very important in so many other ways. The work these people do is more important than they often get credit for. Thanks guys. read more

The restaurant was open for full service but refused sit down guest. They will only prepare your order and add a huge service charge and automatic tip charge for you to get food. This process took about 20 minutes before waitstaff would even acknowledge me as a customer. Staff was simply lazy and wanted to make a killing on to go orders only. The staff was rude and the inside was trashed. The chief look like he could cook good but unfortunately I couldn't pay the addition charges for a group of employees high jacking a restaurant and extorting customers. I hope Wafflehouse knows these employees are using their Resturant this way. read more

My favorite place for breakfast is Waffle House. However, this one isn't great. The building is brand new but the staff are not friendly and service is horribly slow. The All Star Breakfast is something I get all the time. However, when watching my diet, I get the vegetable omelet with egg whites. MAJOR RANT**** (Lucky I didn't go to jail) I do not usually get upset and go off on people, and definitely not to the point of visibly shaking ...BUT... we were at Waffle House in Jackson TN and this hateful, nasty, & rude waitress, named Tammy, REFUSED to serve an elderly man that could barely walk, just because you were supposed to have 2 or more ppl for the booth (Waffle House policy as she explained loudly to the manager) He explained that he could barely walk and needed to be near the bathroom. She drug it out by going to the manager and being loud and just hateful. So much that the man was humiliated and almost to tears. He explained that he couldn't walk that far to the manager when he asked him to move to a single top at the other end, and the manager finally told the server to wait on him. She was hateful and mean to him. Everyone was tense and upset. I almost joined him and order a water and tell her that Waffle House policy may say 2 ppl BUT it didn't state that they both had to be eating, but we were leaving. What I did do, was walk up lean protectively across his table and said in my nicest voice "excuse me, I want to thank you" she had an instant smile come across her face...Then I got louder. My arms got excited and I said "I want to thank you for the lesson you just gave my kids on how NOT to act and how NOT to treat ppl, especially the elderly and on Christmas Day too! You do treat people that way. So thank you!" At this point she won't even look up at me, but looks to Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn gives her a mean look. Then she said "your welcome" At that point I looked at the man and wished him a Merry Christmas and walked out with tears of anger stinging my eyes, and my calves shaking! I am lucky I kept my composure as much as I did because it was all I could do not jerk her across the table (3 cops were at the other end of the restaurant, or I actually might have). It took me almost 100 miles to calm down. I never report people to corporate but they will hear from me about Tammy. The point of me saying all this is to say be nice to ppl everyday, not just on Christmas. It doesn't take that much effort to be a decent person. For all she knows he might have given her a big tip. If I would have sat with him I would have told him in front of her that "oh don't worry I will get the tip." This was perfect! We stopped here when passing through Jackson on a road trip. My boyfriend and I both got the cheesy eggs with hash browns and toast. The eggs were cooked absolutely perfectly. In addition to being the perfect texture, the cheese was scrambled into the eggs instead of like some places that just lay it on top. We asked for crispy hash browns and they were also cooked to absolute perfection. I don't think I've been to any restaurant that has cooked both eggs and hash browns the way I feel they should be! We additionally for a side of biscuits and gravy to share. This side portion was generous. They were also delicious. In addition to the great food, the staff was friendly and helpful. Awful! The service is good and the employees friendly.... However, the establishment is FILTHY. Dirty floors and tables, the kitchen is caked in grease, dirt and mold and there are fruit flies everywhere. I don't get how this place hasn't been shut down. The cook never washed his hands as he cooked different entrees. How this place hasn't been shut down, I have no idea. Food is okay. read more

I'm not going to include in this score how long it took for me to get my meal to-go. With giving the benefit of the doubt i'll say it's so good that it's busiest hour was when i decided to stop in. When i did get my plate and got back to my friend's apt. i can say that i slept well after eating. Yeah, Waffle Houses are rare in Houston so i took advantage. The reason i was here was for my friend's homecoming @ Lane College, and adding that he's a Sigma made my weekend quite an adventure. Not much i van say about a biscuit breakfast though. Although they did not have a gluten free menu, they have gluten free items that can be made safe. The waitress knew what what gluten was and how to avoid cross contamination. You can have eggs and hash browns etc for breakfast. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. Ebony took great care of us. She made sure that my four eggs were each perfectly cooked over-medium...that is NOT a trivial accomplishment at ANY breakfast provider! The food was all good. Tables were on a short wait, but soon after we were seated to claim one that had just come free, Ebony introduced herself as she was cleaning it and said she was going to make sure that everything was great for us...she did! This place is awful... two stars only because the restaurant is nice. They just remodel it. It was one of the oldest ones in Jackson but it's nice looking now. To bad they didn't overhaul the staff. Had to wipe down my own table when I came in. They had four empty tables and all were dirty. We ordered our food and didn't get anything close to what we ordered. We ordered waffles and didn't get them till we were leaving. They were very adamant that we could just take them with us... but who wants waffles that have set in a car all day. Always enjoyed Waffle House. This last visit was a very bad day for employee Ruth. We had to wait very long for the food. While she was standing waiting for our food, (not a busy time) she was totally interested in the juke box, selecting very annoying music. Juke boxes should be banned from Waffle House. The other time was spent scratching her head repeatedly, scratching arms, rubbing face repeatedly, and then she brought our plates. No washing hands. She was very surly and prejudice.
