Our unpleasant experience with WOW: a large mirror that was packed by WOW arrived shattered. (see photo) Other things that were damaged: A toolbox was missing one of the locking latches, a corner lamp arrived damaged, a folding table was dented, a lampshade was crushed, and a wooden bookcase was cracked in half. Also, an unopened package of cardboard moving boxes was not on the truck when everything was delivered. And this: an expensive Frontgate artificial Christmas tree that we had taken meticulous care of arrived as follows: The tree was bent and crushed as flat as possible, mashed down with pieces of cardboard squeezed tightly with packing tape. We had a horrific experience moving cross country with WOW. Two main issues: The packers did a terrible job. Absolutely woeful, random teenagers off the street could have done better. Many things that should have been packed were just transported unprotected. Multiple boxes were not tagged properly so they couldn't be tracked in the inventory when we took delivery. Several delicate items that were packed by them still arrived damaged beyond repair. Far worse though, is that they STOLE from us. On delivery at the destination, every box that could be positively identified in the inventory was present, except for one. That one happened to contain some valuables that could be easily resold on eBay or FB marketplace. The packers had written the type of valuables on the outside of the box and it's virtually certain that this box never made it to the warehouse where WOW stored our goods before we were ready to take delivery. I know this is a serious accusation but only this single box was missing and it was obviously labeled that it contained easy-to-sell desirable valuables. Too much of a coincidence. We ultimately got over $6000 in insurance compensation from Allied, because we fortunately paid for full replacement value insurance. IMO WOW is only in business because they are an agent for Allied and can hide behind Allied's brand and reputation. WOW what a huge mistake! We moved long distance, out of state in late December, 2024. We told Chris Finno, our agent, that we wanted full insurance. At the time, WOW was in limbo, not knowing if they were using United or Allied. in addition, there was no Docusign. Chris Finno came with a 1-page contract, unannounced, while we were very busy. We signed the contract but realized that it said we had $250 deductible. That was not what we agreed on. Chris Finno, sent the correction via email, but with no Docusign or printer, we didn't sign that page. It had the same contract number, with everything else identical to the original, except with $0 deductible. Chris Finno never came to have us sign the second, corrected page. We sustained considerable damage that we expected would be covered under the no deductible clause. The sentence of $0 deduction was also in capital letters on our Carrier Packing and Crating Summary. After over 40 emails to the adjuster (Judy Fisher), numerous calls to Chris Finno, and even calls and email to Mr. Cohen, owner of WOW, we got nowhere. Trust anybody else! Chris Finno even told us that we had 6 months to file a claim. That was also denied. It took over 6 months for WOW to finalize the paperwork. read more

Never ever ever use this moving company. They tried to overcharge me almost $1000 more once they unloaded my furniture the day of the move. Once I unwrapped the furniture and the couches because it was in storage for two months there was a ton of damage. THEY PUT IT IN THE STORAGE UNIT. THEY JAMMED IT AND DRAGGED THE COUCHES INSTEAD OF LIFTING THEM. My couches were ripped and an antique piece of furniture had the handle broken off and a brand refrigerator was scratched and dented. I have been going back-and-forth with them for six months and they refused to fix or replace or reimburse me for the damage even though they talked me into buying the most expensive insurance policy with them. They are an absolute nightmare to work with. Not only did I have to speak with multiple people, some which never even returned my calls, but my couch ended up being damaged. They packed and stored my couch for roughly 11 months, when I went to pick it up they placed it in my box truck still fully wrapped, when unwrapping at final destination I noticed holes throughout the covers and discovered the fabric of the couch was damaged. Also broken support beam that punctured the bottom. They refuse to take responsibility and honor our claim. The only reason I even had to rent a box truck was because they were going to charge over $600 just to deliver half a couch. read more

We were presented with paperwork to sign after the movers finished. The crew foreman lied to us and said we had 90 days to dispute any damage or missing items, so we signed. Shortly after, we discovered damage to our brand new hardwood floors ($1,200 repair) and submitted a claim to Wade Odell Wade. The claim was denied because we had signed the paperwork - there is no period to dispute if you sign. The foreman had lied straight to our faces. Wade Odell was referred to me by a family member whose son had used them to move. From start to finish, I have nothing but good things to say. Chris came and did the survey/quote, he was available afterward when needed for a few questions I had. I worked with Nancy as my project manager, she stayed in communication through the entire process. I was even able to go to their warehouse and pick up used boxes to help minimize the cost. Then Manny and his crew did both the pack, the move and the unpack of our home. They were great. They were efficient, respectful and caring. Movers are supposed to make your like easier during this stressful time but WOW did the complete opposite! Sure Chris the sales guy did a great sell and ensured us that they 'own' the move/ storage/move from end to end. That is bull. Each step of the way the current or local team washed their hands in it saying "This is that we were told to load" or "We can deliver what was loaded in NJ" I cannot tell you how many things were "lost" or broken. We packed some and they packed the big stuff. I cannot believe how much was damaged from the trip from NY to NC (with a 6 month storage in NJ). And the insurance is crap as well. We spent 4 months w/ the insurance folks and had to fight for 2K in recovery. When they moved our stuff from NY, boxes that were labeled "fragile", were thrown over their shoulder and loaded upside down on the truck. Many pictures w/ glass and ceramic bowls and platters were broken. We have pictures of them just laying items on the wet lawn prior to loading the truck. Also each item they packed was marked if there was damage but when we tried to collect they said "That was already damaged" but could not show us the sticker. The tracking stickers w/ the numbers are a joke. They did not scan them when they took it off the truck. We did not get reimbursed for 1/2 of what was lost or broken. When we tried to collect the rep said "You signed off saying it was all delivered, you shovel not have signed" Most was still in boxes when they left and you do not know for weeks if things were missing. The moves told us "no worries, just sign it and you have 9 months to make a claim" We went 3 days over the 6 months storage (house build was delayed) and we were charged $1600 more. The move into our new home in NC was careless, rushed and the movers actually sat on our furniture w/ their sweaty bodies...gross. No wonder they only get 2 stars. Our experience with WOW labor the day our furniture was picked up was excellent. The staff was efficient and hard working. Two weeks later when our items were delivered (cross country move) - we were missing the assembly pieces to the four largest furniture items ( 2 beds and 2 couches) - these were items the WOW staff disassembled - I noted this on the delivery service paperwork at the time of receipt. I have spent the last 9 weeks trying to get my parts or to collect money (insurance money I paid for initially) to replace / repair these items. A real headache. Brace yourself for this adventure. I sold my house while 9 months pregnant and had to be out within 30 days. I hired W.O.W. because they had fantastic google reviews and I have some very expensive and heavy stuff. Their quote came in right in the middle of 2 competitors so i figured they were not low-balling..... The guy who gives quotes (one of the owners) came out and did a thorough survey. Told me they would pack the delicate floor lamps, the acrylic photos, the vaccums (too big for a standard box) etc. I even warned him the bedframe upstairs was too big and would have to be lifted over the balcony. (Think tons of restoration hardware heavy furniture). My house is not for an amateur crew... They also agreed to my demand that it be done in 1 day only (as I was flying with my newborn that evening out of NYC). Lauren (office manager) told me that they were getting super booked up and busy on the schedule. I realized later when the crew arrived to my house, that they were so busy they must have hired a bunch of new people and stuck 1 of their good guys with 4 newbies resulting in an insuffienct crew. (verses having a crew of 5 solid guys). Day of the move they show up on time. Tuck is the foreman (supervisor). He is a super buff guy who seems to know his sh-t. His crew, on the other hand, is scrawny and looking around like this is their first day on the job. Tuck looked around and said "why aren't your lamps packed" why aren't your photos packed? Did the packers come?" and I said yes they came yesterday and told me you guys packed this stuff and they just packed a couple things. Massive miscommunication. Guess they use a 3rd party for packing and those guys skimped. Tuck had to tell his crew what to do at each moment. I literally said to tuck "these guys have no idea wtf they are doing do they?" and he replied "well... It is going slower because I have to inventory your stuff AND organize the load when it arrives in the truck"...Urgh. I shook my head like what in hell's sake is going on here? Looking at the truck, I said to my mom "there is NO WAY my entire house will fit in this truck. They need a bigger truck"... well- as I predicted, Tuck tells me around 6pm that "they need another truck and they will come back tomorrow" - I flipped. I said I had a flight at 7am and I was sleeping at a hotel by LGA airport (an hour from my NJ house) and I could not let them move my stuff unsupervised. But i was backed in a corner. I had no choice. So i signed BLANK INVENTORY FORMS for him to load all my stuff the following morning. Examples of how rookie these guys were (except Tuck) - 1) Tuck told them, do NOT load anything in the van unless it is TAGGED with an inventory sticker. They loaded my carryon suitcase that I was bringing to the airport with me and had to dig for it in the back of the dark van at 8pm. 2) They could not get the dresser from my bedroom downstairs as it was "too heavy" -meanwhile, my husband moved it with a buddy of his. And we had a crew of 4 guys. Naturally, Tuck had to step in to save that day. 3) They tried to tell me they were going to give me a labor surcharge for the bedframe going off the balcony- I had to remind Lauren at the office that I specifically told the surveyer this already and they finally agreed to remove that extra charge. In summary- I am waiting on their response to my submitted damage claim for my very expensive pieces. read more

Be warned. Stay away. Used them to move. Dinged and chipped dresser, credenza, scratched tv and dropped the coffee table (from the Empire State Building) you pay for insurance, then they won't put a claim through. We provided prices to replace the coffee table. They couldn't care less. Arbitrary repair prices. The MOST obnoxious woman handles this department. Have used them for storage for years and didn't have a problem. They told us if we had a $50,000 table we should've identified it as "high value" and they would have wrapped it properly. I guess my $5,000 coffee table just got tossed onto the truck.... Stay clear! I'll see them in court. One star too generous. The coffee table corner is crunched, but the whole top is buckled. Update: only after posting on social media did we get a (scripted, but vaguely polite response.) Thanks for the offer to send another one of your hand picked appraisers to look at the table, for a second opinion. We've been in the new place for 3 months. Looking to find a solution that works for both sides? Reimburse me, per my estimate from the store and website for the list price to replace this irreparable piece of furniture, file an insurance claim, and be done with it. Unfortunately, our experience with WOW was extremely unpleasant. Many items were left unpacked and scattered around the house. Not only were they not packed, they were never transported to our new home. However, they did manage to pack "dirty" dishes from the dishwasher without consulting with us first. Even though boxes were marked as to which rooms they were to be placed, that didn't happen. We had boxes marked "tools" placed in the kitchen, and boxes marked "food" placed in the basement and garage. Everything was stacked 4-deep and we were unable to move them ourselves. Our china closet was chipped, a collector's lamp was damaged, along with many other broken collectibles. The worst occurrence was the disappearance of the beveled 5ft long glass top to our living room set which I happened to find broken in two and hidden on the side of my car in the garage. The name of the individual who had the audacity to hide this was given to me by one of the workers who was sent to move the boxes to the rooms they had been marked to be placed in. We visited the WOW office to voice our complaint and was told by Lauren that this same individual had been told on other occasions that he should notify the persons when they have damaged anything, and NOT HIDE IT ! DO NOT use this company. There are too many other moving companies out there anxious for your business. I had a very small local move, 1 bedroom apartment. Their staff mishandled my one year old $1800 couch and refused to compensate me appropriately. They gave me $130 without speaking to me or explaining how they arrived at that number. After looking into this on my own, I did not realize that had I bought insurance to cover their staff's potential mishandling, they may have compensated me fully! Why I would have to buy insurance to cover their mistakes is beyond the pale! As I opened with, there are way too many other companies out there, don't risk it with these guys. To add salt to the wound, I sent a detailed letter explaining my position via certified mail and was completely ignored by the owner whom I had sent the letter to. I had an amazing move with them in July. In January, however, the move was HORRENDOUS!!! The foreman whom they sent previously was bilingual, being able to converse with me in English and translating to the movers in Spanish. This time, they sent a foreman who "spoke", but did not "comprehend" English. This was apparent several times!!! The items I indicated were very important and needed to be delivered to the residence, I was later told, were unlabeled and the movers did not know where they were. Those were food and medicine! Items that they were instructed to bring to storage were brought to the residence and Vice versa. The movers did not do a final walk through despite telling headquarters that they did and left and entire closet full of boxes with a moving blanket in front of the door! When I returned and notified headquarters of this, I was told that it was an "honest mistake" and that they wouldn't go back to correct any of the errors. As I would be in breach of the lease of the items were left, I had to hire and pay another mover to move the items out and bring them to my residence up to the wire of my lease end date! Additionally, the move was OVER TWICE what I was quoted and MORE THAN HALF of my total items are in locations where they should not be! I will have to hire another mover to move half the items out of the residence and into storage and the other half out of storage and up two flights of stairs into the residence! Nancy and I spoke several times in advance of the move and she helped me feel confident that everything would go smoothly. The crew - Melvin, Angel and Jose - were the hardest working individuals I have ever met! I was so impressed by the care they took with all my items. They had to navigate moving heavy furniture down several sets of narrow stairs in a 100-year-old house and they did so without any problems. VERY DISAPPOINTED in my choice of movers to Florida. Precious Items stolen or given to some other moving recipient, from a poorly managed "co-mingled" moving van shipment - I knew something was wrong when they brought in a strange looking large box that was not mine. I opened it there in front of them upon arrival. Someone got my precious possessions and they tried to substitute it with a box full of cheap Christmas decorations. I should have known when they told me that they parked the van 20 miles away from my house in Tuxedo Park, NY., and had to drive miles to load the van multiple times for 2-3 days. I called about this, talked to a woman in the office, and never got a response back. They fill out some "Household Goods Descriptive Inventory" papers, about 25 pages, most with arrows drawn down the rows, without itemizations (see photo). Then they make you sign it upon arrival. Since it's not itemized, they are "safe" when some things are missing. I should have know better when the sales agent said to me " Thank us AFTER all your items arrive, if they do". I think they hire transients who steal, one of them put one of their stickers on a bag I had of important papers, and it never showed up. My mom contacted Wade Odell Wade (WOW) to move us and, without asking any details about the move, the WOW representative immediately told my mom that they couldn't move her for at least another two months. My mom asked if WOW could ask the owner, whose wife my mom used to work with, if they could either (1) put her on a big truck when one is heading to our new state; or (2) store our stuff and put it on a truck when one becomes available. Obviously, we expected to pay for such services; my mom was just trying to be creative given their schedule. The WOW representative said that she would text the owner and find out if he could accommodate one of those two options given they couldn't fit my mom into the schedule. My mom never heard from her for several days and called her back. The WOW representative said that the owner was in the office that morning, but she didn't ask him if he could accommodate either of my mom's requests. My mom asked her, again, if she would look into the answer to the original question and she said she would. Again, the WOW representative never called my mom, so my mom called her back. She still didn't have an answer and pushed my mom off to ShipSmart who has been awful. It's been over 5 weeks since ShipSmart's subcontractor picked up our belongings and we still don't have our stuff. I'm writing a review about them next. My mom called WOW one more time and the WOW representative still had no answer, so my mom asked her if she could at least deliver wardrobe boxes to our townhouse a few blocks away. She said yes, but my mom had to call to remind her after several days. My mom paid for the boxes and the "gentlemen" who delivered the boxes were not particularly friendly. It took two men to bring them in and, when my mom asked for a refresher on how to assemble them, they told her it's "easy," dropped the boxes, and left. Perhaps WOW just does not care about a small move, but WOW should better communicate with its (potential) customers and better protect its name by not recommending a company like ShipSmart. My mom has been a Registered Nurse for 42 years and would never treat a patient like this company treated her. If she did, the consequences could be dire. I'm an Attorney and I would never treat my clients the way this company treated my mother. What a shame. read more

This is the 2nd time I hired WOW Moving. As a repeat customer, I thought it would be a better experience. The first move went fine, but there was a difference in the price on the day of the actual move even though the guy had given me an in-home estimate. This second move, Chris Finno came to my house twice. I felt confident that what he quoted me was going to be the price. When the packer came the day before the move, he said it was going to cost more. He packed my stuff and I was stuck with no explanation. I called Chris and Lauren to understand why and neither returned my call at any point. Since it was the day before the move, I felt trapped in paying the extra cost. A move is extremely stressful, especially long distance, so I was grateful to have the work done. When they came to deliver my stuff, it was clear they just wanted to be done. A ceramic pot that has been in the family longer than i didn't survive. It was "packed@ by WOW in a box with no cushion or wrapping. The glass on a cart they packed was destroyed. Both of these have survived multiple past long-distance moves. A guy was carrying a 100-year old chair with one hand and the other arm was full. I asked him to be careful with the chair. It broke. I'm so disappointed. Sure, I'll go through a claims process, but it can't make the experience better. I'm certain this will not be my last move. I even told them that thinking they'd work hard to keep my business. One thing I know for sure is that I will not be hiring WOW again. Wow is right. Just...wow. read more

Beware of lowball bids We recently moved from NJ to CT. One of the owners came to our home to give us a bid. The entire house was open to him and he took a inventory, including items in the closets and storage areas. He gave us a bid on the spot of about $6,000. I fully expected that there would be some contingencies which would raise the cost, so was ok with a reasonable increase. Purportedly, this man is a professional with many years experience in the business so I expected a fairly accurate estimate. When the move was completed, we were presented with a bill that was about $1,000 more than the estimate. Sorry, but if you're an experienced mover and have access to the entire house and its contents you shouldn't be 15% over your estimate. If you're moving, be very careful of this outfit. read more

Exactly 3 weeks and 1 day out, a call to their office to give the deposit reveals that they are now booked for our moving date. Maritza could not have been less pleasant. We had multiple email exchanges with them about the date, and were assured it was not a problem. I emailed John and he replied saying the the pandemic has created a demand for their services. The pandemic is not an excuse for poor scheduling and is really neither here nor there. We felt confident that we had enough communications with them that this was not a concern, but here we are. We hired WoW moving services for our move back in October of 2020. They stored our belongings for 5 months before moving back into our home. We paid for full value protection insurance through them with zero deductible. We only had them pack one marble top and one 65" TV. Both came back damaged. They made an offer through insurance for table, but would not honor policy for TV. The TV was in perfect working condition before the move. It now bleeds on both edges from handling the sides of TV while packing. I made several attempts to contact them but they have been unresponsive. They will not address the damaged TV they packed, which I paid insurance on. Plenty of other reliable movers in area, stay away from WoW, completely unprofessional. read more

I had high hopes for my experience with Wade Odell Wade. I had a representative come to my house and provide a detailed estimate, cataloguing all of the contents of my house in order to prepare the budget. After my move, the final price came in 40% above that estimate. Additionally, the movers were unwilling to move my treadmill (which was thoroughly discussed in the estimate) and it ended up costing me an additional $360 to have it moved after I closed on the sale of my house. My buyers were incredibly annoyed that I had to leave the treadmill in the home and I had to provide them a $200 credit to let the new moving company in to move it after the closing. Also, my new and old house very scuffed up from the move and the screws were lost to my infant son's baby bed. Also the power cord to my peloton no longer works and I cannot use the device. Overall, very poor experience and corporate team unwilling to work with me on the crazy inflated price. We moved from NJ to Maryland. The movers themselves were quite good. The problem occurs if anything goes wrong. A section of a newly refinished hardwood floor was very marred during the move out of the NJ house. Most likely from the pad laid on the floor and furniture moved over it. We noticed the area within an hour of the movers leaving. We immediately tried cleaning it, as any rational person would, to see if that would remove the problem and not bother the moving company. But it was more than a surface issue. So we contacted Wade ODell Wade and opened a ticket and sent a photo. Their response, looking at the photo only, was that it looks like it needs to be cleaned. We told them that we tried cleaning it an it didn't work. Two days later their response was that they have no liability because we tried cleaning it! So use this company at your own peril. If no problems occur, you are fine. But heaven help you if one does. Their response will be "not my problem", even though it was. UPDATE 10/8: The company response just proves their lack of accountability. The hardwood was scratched and discolored by the movers. All that we did was rub the area that the movers harmed with a sponge and wood cleaner. It did nothing. Then we contacted the company. That is what any reasonable person would do prior to contacting the firm. In fact, when we first contacted the company and sent photos, their response was that it looked like all it needed to be cleaned. But due to the sponge, they say they have no accountability.. read more

In November, we had finally sold our house and needed to start the moving process. Last time we moved was over 34 years ago. So you can imagine the amount of stuff that we needed to pack. We interviewed a few moving companies and just felt comfortable with Wade, Odell, Wade. More of a gut reaction. From the original estimator through the office process to the end; it was seamless. We packed a lot of stuff on our own and thought that we were pretty well prepared for our moving day, but for as much as we did, we still needed help! Pedro, Jose and Marconi were amazing, they just flew into action and got us out of that house. In fact they were so quick that they packed, delivered and unpacked 90 miles away in about 8-9 hours. My wife and I use Wade Odell Wade to move from New Jersey to Florida. The salesperson was direct, accurate and forthright. Before the move, he and his staff assisted me and answered questions many times. Due to illness, I had to reschedule, twice, and that too was no problem. One set of staff did the loading in NJ. They were fast, efficient, careful, respectful and did all that we asked. A different set of staff did the unloading in FL. They were also great at their jobs. Bottom line: no boxes were missing, nothing was damaged, no extra (unexpected, last minute) charges, My wife and I were very pleased with our the entire move. Almost did not come to my house for the move ( a problem with a worker who was late for work). Finally showed up & the move went ok. After unpacking I realized a box was missing. The $$$value meant nothing to me but objects of sentimental value were gone. They looked for the box but could not find it & sent me a check for $20.00. I felt such disgust. They were not honest or up front about our long distance move. We did not get our shipment for five weeks after it was loaded even though our last date of delivery was supposed to be two weeks after loading. There was no communication. There were no updates provided and I was made to feel foolish when I would call for an update. Even after our things arrived there was no call to see how it went or even say thank you for your patience. Was definitely let down by this company. read more

So sorry it has taken me so long to post my update- I think my boxes are giving birth to more boxes- still unpacking! The delivery was outstanding- John ,Kevin and their Florida helper CeCe did an amazing job of unloading and patiently placing my belongings in my new home! The owner of this company, Ed Odell, went above and beyond normal and good service, to correct a problem I had moving into a storage unit. The three man crew could not finish packing my belongings into the storage space I rented in an efficient manner within the time period allowed. Ed sent two of his best, Big Dog and Mark to rearrange 3/4 of the original shipment so that I have access to what I need. It took them about two to three hours. Ed provided this service at no extra charge to me!! Outstanding!! I recommend this company before any other have used. I will call him to move me into my new home. read more
