The food here is good and healthy. There are a lot of negative reviews on here about staff attitude. I wanted to say that I go here often on my lunch break. There are definitely a few people who run this place who are total gym rats who give off a too cool for you vibe. There are also some very friendly people who work here who make pleasant conversation and smile. Definitely not the best management of employees but there is no air of hostility when you walk in. If you are looking for something healthy in the area your options are limited trust me! So don't totally count the place out but if you do it will be easier for me to find a seat at lunch. read more

Horrible service!! I call to put an order and they had me on hold for 5 mins so I ended up hanging up. It would of taken less than a minute to just get my order in so it can be ready for when I pick it up. I ended up going somewhere else. read more

Alright, let's get to it! I just finished reviewing the MBF next door and now it's time for Waba. Not only is it overpriced (which isn't even the biggest problem) but the staff is rude. Every single time I've talked to one of them I get nothing but attitude. They mess around in the back in clear view of your customers! Not only that but they are always on their phones and are always blasting obscene music in the back! There are children here and I for one do not want to eat my meal or order a meal at a place that gives such awful service. Like seriously, stop the obscene music. We CAN hear it over the radio. It's obviously someones speaker. That is so off putting. I've never once had a meal that either wasn't burnt or tastes right. The food here is disgusting. Now, I live Redlands, so I had high hopes considering the Waba in Mountain Grove has always given me great food and service. But no. Save your time and visit the Waba in Mountain Grove. You'll get better quality food and service for your buck. Heck, there are a ton of places in Mountain Grove you can visit. Best of luck, I will never come here again. You deserve to be shut down, especially when I've seen your staff take out the trash, come back, and NOT wash their hands. That, and, they will handle money then continue to handle food. Haven't any of them been taught to wash their hands when going between handling food and money? I should call a health insoector on you or somwthing. smh. Good riddance Waba. Had the half chicken half beef bowl. Very good. Added the brown rice. A bit dry but the soy sauce did the trick. The onion toppings made it quite tasty. Wife and son brought in food from a neighboring location. They didn't mind a bit. Friendly staff. Always enjoy the food here. A healthy treat. read more

I've eaten here numerous times, I've gotten the chicken bowl before, and it was good, yesterday was a different story... I went in and wanted to try something new, I asked the cashier/ cook if the salmon was good, he said "it's the best thing on the menu." I decided to try it, it was the first meal of the day for me, around 4ish, he said "imma put it on the grill right now" so I waited about 10 minutes and my food came out, I went back over to my work to finish my meal, I was eating it and it was alright. Nothing special. Later that night I got home around 9ish as soon as I laid down I started feeling nauseous. At this time it was 1am. I immediately went to the bathroom and started throwing up. The food was partially digested by then, around 3am I got up to throw up again, I also had very bad #3 (squirts) what you get when a #1 and a #2 mate... As I was on the toilet it started coming out of both ends (throwing up) and so I came to the conclusion and self diagnosed myself, that I have gotten food poisoning. I won't eat there ever again. I also think I'm going to become a vegetarian. I'm just sayin, they basically gave me the worst meal I've ever had. I didn't wanna give them any stars, but Yelp made me, this deserves -5 stars. This is the absolute WORST Waba Grill location. I ordered the Chicken and Steak plate. What happened to the salad? I received a few stems. A few morsels of chicken and hard, burnt, rubbery steak. Go to another location, skip this one as the owner just wants to sell you rice. read more

Won't be going here again . This place is dirty . From food dropped all over the floor to dirty counter tops . To Staffs aprons and head gear very dirty ,one of the female there was chopping up meat with no head cover and nail polish on her nails with no protective gloves . I really like this place. The food is really good. The meat is cook just right. If you are trying or love to eat heathy this is the place...... BUT and that's a big BUT.... The cashiers are very rude. The cashier that I alway get when I come does not have good customer service. Her name is Carina. You get dirty looks the whole time you are trying to order if she is even paying attention to you. As I was ordering she just started to talk to another employee. After she was done she looked at me with a nasty look and said WHAT! I just looked at her and said what's what? She said what do you want! Kept my cool and told her again what I was ordering. I don't drink soda so I ask for a water cup and I got attitude for that too! The guy standing be hide me started to laugh. I don't know if she is just to young or just not to intelligent. I didn't ask for a side of attitude with my chicken so please don't give it to me. I will say the manager here has outstanding customer service skills. Their food is very good, but twice now they have given me white rice when I ordered brown rice. They charge extra for brown rice, so this is really annoying. When I have brought it to their attention, they don't reimburse me the cost (since I take it to go) they just say, "oh sorry". read more

I have been to 3 different waba grills and I love 2 out of the three the one in Upland CA And Fontana CA are excellent. I keep trying the one in Highland on Greenspot Road hoping it will get better because I'm only 2 miles away ftom that location It just isn't going to get any better. The steak & chicken are always fatty and cut in big pieces the other places chop the meat thoroughly and the meat portions are very good at the other places. Very scimpy meat in Highland & the rice is bland and sticky. There is nothing consistent about this waba grill sometimes you walk away with a little meat & a ton of rice. The inside is dated and looks dirty. I guess I will have to drive all the way to Fontana on Sierra or to Upland when I want excellent Waba. read more

The food is okay at best. But what really makes this place poor is the quality of workers there. It's like a bunch of kids who don't know how to clean up after themselves....which is too bad. The concept of this restaurant is great, but the lack of professionalism and cleanliness and presentation make this a restaurant at the level of a grimy dive. I have been going there since they open and i stopped getting the chicken. Tasted burnt the last few times, not enough to complain to the manager but enough to not order it again. I went to this restaurant with my family and had awful service. The rice looked like pudding and it completely ruined my appetite. It had the texture of mashed potatoes and clumped together in a watery mess. When I talked to the lead she informed us that the rice had not been properly cooked by the morning shift. MORNING, that rice had been sitting there a whole day and when I arrived at WaBa Grill it was 7 pm. The lead tried to help us out but another employee was extremely rude. He insisted that we just wanted our money back and had already eaten the food so we didn't deserve a refund. Also an employee from the next door Brain Freeze place started to laugh at my father and insult him. This guy named Brian then continued to insult my father telling him that the food was fine and that he should back away and not "touch him," when he in fact did not even work there an was only present to make the situation worse. I've been here and many occasions, and the only positive note I have to share is their amazing ability to cook broccoli stalks (yes most of the broccoli served is chopped stalks and not florets). Every time I eat here something is terribly wrong. Once I asked about the miso soup (listed on the menu) and they said "nope".....wtf??? Ok whatever then. I ordered a shrimp bowl once, and the shrimp was undercooked (still grey in the center). I have received mushy rice on almost every occasion, ordering brown rice is not much better as the brown rice is usually supper crunchy (undercooked). The last straw was my last visit when the guy taking the orders and the money was also filling the bowls with rice and veggies WITHOUT WASHING HANDS BETWEEN MONEY AND FOOD. Big BIG no no. That same day an employee arrived out of uniform, white girl with really long blond hair, and she was in the back walking around the food area with her hair down, wearing short shorts and a tank top and flip flops (major violations ) and was just casually hanging out with the cooks joking and laughing it up while the cooks should have been doing their job and preparing food. I don't know if the owners are aware of these shenanigans, or if they even care since they are also the owners of the yogurt shop next door and are probably making a killing anyway. I'll tell you right now, someone is going to get hurt or very very sick eating at this place. I will never be back. Thank goodness they opened a Flame Broiler in Redlands, I'll take the extra drive there to get better quality food and service. Good luck with this place. read more
