This Public Radio Station is in the middle of NY State. A small town off Rt 17. It covers the…read moreCatskills area of the state, and into northern PA. Its a community supported station, like they all are, but it is very specific to the area and very needed by the area. They do a ton of local news and events, and they have lots of local programming as well. Its hydro powered, really. You can see the actual hydro powering happening if you go to the station. Very cool. In addition to carrying the NPR stipples (Weekend Today, All Things Considered, etc.) they make space for local talent to cover books, music, farming, Fall Foliage and much much more. Its very homey, and if you go there to make a donation you can meet the "on air" staff, and watch them work. They also do local events, an annual auction, some farm to table dinners and more. This very small station has a very big impact. Keep up the good work.

But to make fun of a president who is trying to help the middle class. Yet they are complaining on this show. Someone called in today talked about Democrats always raising taxes. My husband and I (fact) have never paid as much taxes as when the last president gave the rich the biggest tax break in history. We have made less as well. So, what is the matter with you people. The afternoon guy Steve Corbet has a problem with most people that disagree with his opinion. He requests people to call in and give their opinion on the subject of the day. If the caller disagrees with him his voice tonality turns to a very condescending disgusted tone and he usually belittles the caller and talks over him. Then when the caller gets angry Steve continues to disgrace the caller into hanging up. Steve then in an arrogant fashion gives a comment that that guy just doesn't get it. He acts like a bully most of the time. Or maybe the callers just dont measure up to his superior intelect. He infers that his callers are not intelligent enough to understand him. He comes off as a do gooder and I really think he means well but when someone upsets so many people someone on the inside needs to have a talk with him. He feels insulted that someone would have a different view. I have never seen anything like. I equate him to Sinefields soup natzi. I have listened to callers try to carefuly choose the correct words only to be put down by Steve. He needs to listen to himself along with an objective person that he respects. This is only my opinion and as a long time listener to your station. WILK CAN DO MUCH BETTER in this spot. The YELP star rating should be a 5 star. Steve just said that he doesn't like the word stupid but SOME OF THE CALLERS TODAY . I know steve is a bulldog when it comes to politics and he does an ok job. He should be more responsible when trashing and degrading local accused politicians.Sometimes Steve gets carried away and causes people other than the accused great harm. Grand kids nieces nephews and other family members great pain. I know Steve would say certain polititions caused the pain and he is right to a degree but children and family members don't need anymore pain dished out by Corbet. What he sometimes does is convict and punish the accused before the trial starts. He is not professional. He has a place in the investigative news but not on the radio. Not Good. He mocked Joe Paterno and maybe Joe brought it on himself but I dont remember a trial. Regardless a professional doesnt start yelling on the radio "JOE PATERNO IS A BAD BAD MAN." I will not from this day foward support or recomend Steve's sponcers on the radio. The listeners do not respect Steve as a viable radio host. Again this is just my opinion. PS LOVE THE REST OF THE LOCAL SHOWS. Love them I try to listen to Corbett every 2 weeks to see if it is got better. All I hear is a very paranoid non articulate self absorbed radio host wannabe. Doesn't he get it that the only called he gets are from people just like him. I really can't believe that the management at WILK doesn't get it. The man is scary. I am not one of his enemies. I am just a guy that enjoys listing to the radio. The only way to get this guy off the radio is to boycott his sponsors. WILK PLEASE Pay attention to the lunacy from 3 to 7 each night. I know that he tries but he is not capable of being anything but a loud mouth. I have heard good people try to have a debate with him only to be belittled by Mr Corbett.
