All the staff we interacted with were excellent. The whole place was extremely clean and we'll maintained. The room was very good. The beds very comfortable, window had screens so you could sleep with a window open. Breakfast was a buffet and all the food was really good and the capacinno was excellent. Dinner was a four course meal . The food and presentation was good, and staff were wonderful. The evening cruise along the canals was great. The owner narrated the tour in Dutch and translated to English as well. He was very knowledgeable and we learned alot about the history. We had a great time and will go back.

The rooms were comfortable, the service was warm and kind, the food (two breakfasts, two lunches, and one dinner) was perfect, and the location was ideal. The owner was wonderful to work with in securing the rooms. I hope to return to Franeker someday soon for a happier reason, and I will be sure to return to De Stadsherberg.

The location was perfect to discover the old city centre and to do some shopping. The hotel staff were a combination of efficiency and friendliness. The room was spacious and well equipped. An air conditioning might have been welcome but I can imagine that so high up north they are not really used to the heatwave we were having. All in all, this hotel is recommended if you are about to discover the city. Great value for money!

It was so nice to just sit and enjoy a quiet break with a good selection of wines, cocktails and comfortable seating.
