This is a well-known venue in Aarhus. Well-known enough that GYBE decided to come here on their European leg, and was part of the reason that I decided to build my vacation around this time.
I believe a lot of the employees are actually volunteers. There's a bit of that sort of spirit amongst the youth in Aarhus. Volunteering, self-sufficiency, all that hippie shit. It's kind of refreshing to see that it can actually work in some places.
The venue is a nice space. The sound quality isn't amazing, though the equipment looks to be quite nice. The setup is pretty good. There's a standing balcony upstairs (and a small bar area) and there's a bar downstairs with table/seating behind everything in the back, with a slight view of the stage.
I had my Danish friend communicate with them about disabled seating, and they said they had no actual seats and no official policy or area for disabled seating, but there is a bar area behind the bar and sound booth (not good for viewing) and on the second floor there are some boxes to sit on, and my friend was able to get a small stool for me from a volunteer.
I liked it here, but I would not list it among my favorite places. read more
