Well after watching our wedding video that this amazing team has done for us, I cannot believe how great they made us look! Let's start from the very beginning ... As our wedding date was set, my girl and I were looking for a great videography team that had style, had passion and also had experience with the venue we were having our wedding at. After looking through our venue's IG page, a specific video caught my eye and it happened to be done by the wonderful FilmLife team. I had already reached out to 2 other videography teams and as we spoke with each of these videography teams, it was easy to choose FilmLife. First off, the first interaction with FilmLife was genuine; upon meeting a very friendly Trenton, he asked very specific questions that were outside of the wedding plans as well as related to the wedding plans to gauge what kind of couple we are. As soon as both Trenton and us realized we had good chemistry and that this would be a fun day to be around each other, it was an easy decision. I really appreciated this vetting process because you want to be comfortable from both behind and in front of the camera. The other videography teams were very "cookie-cutter", they didn't ask much about us other than our dates and we never got to speak with the videographer who'd work with us, it was just yes we'll take you and here's what it'll cost. Trenton sat down and took time out of his day to also see if we'd be a couple he'd shoot with and after an hour call that felt like 10 minutes, it was an easy decision. We went through the packages that FilmLife had and FilmLife was very flexible and understanding of what we were looking for. As weeks went by and the wedding date approaching, Trenton sat down with us through zooms and was able to help craft our story, customized to us with questions about us as a couple, our history, what our future looks like and what we are excited for at the wedding. These types of questions help with your own vows and we appreciated having these sessions to help truly understand why we were getting married. May I also say that Trenton always had enthusiasm with these sessions; we understand that Trenton and his wife and team were very busy because of their schedule but our sessions always felt as if the wedding was tomorrow and FilmLife was eager to shoot. The wedding day comes in and Trenton arrives with another videographer, the man Jacob. These two provide the game plan that had been reviewed multiple times before the day but it felt like everything flowed smoothly. Trenton would be with us for one part and then Jacob as well and the duo just had great chemistry working with each other as well as our wedding party. It was just fun all around. Never did we felt like we were in front of a camera, but also when Trenton and Jacob were able to chat, they felt like just one of our friends hanging out. When it's your wedding day, you're bound to feel the jitters of the day but with the all stars of Trenton and Jacob, you felt calm and loose and just overall excited. Plus both these guys hit all the highlights we wanted them to record and after a long and fun and momentous day, both Trenton and Jacob showed enthusiasm, a sense of style and eye for the moment and were extremely professional. Finally wrapping up, we received our sneak peeks sooner than we thought and we were astonished as to how amazing FilmLife made our day look. Trenton found the perfect music for our trailer and we shared with all our friends and they all were equally impressed. The hard work and long hours FilmLife put into our day showed immediately and we are just so grateful that Trenton and Jacob were able to spend the day with us to capture our memories. After finding Jennifer Whalen and seeing the Big Sur Stary night package we never looked back. Jennifer did an excellent job helping us through the whole process and providing clear directions (lots of checklist!) when we had our wedding at Big Sur in June of 2025. Once I saw her website, I was hooked. Immediately, I reached out to Jennifer and she was great at communicating and setting up a time for our engagement photos. She told us we'd have our photos by a certain date and actually sent us a link to our album a week before then! We really liked how the photos captured our personalities and how fun they were to take. I'm always awkward when taking pictures and am unsure of where my hands go (much like Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights), but I basically did whatever I wanted and Jen got a gajillion great photos. She is SUPER organized and has one of the coolest ideas called table races. I really wanted photos of us with EVERYone who came to our wedding and Jen does this thing where the bride and groom run around and take photos with every single table. It was done in less than 5 minutes, as time was a concern of ours, and they turned out so fun! He guided us through the poses and was able to wrap up our shoot earlier than estimated even though I usually find myself very awkward in front of the camera. I spent the whole day going back and forth with their rep (Ole) about our wedding package and pricing. They assured us they had availability on our date and even sent over the contract. But just as we were getting ready to send in the deposit check and sign, they dropped the bombshell: our date was no longer available because it had been booked by someone else. This left us scratching our heads, especially since we were just about to seal the deal and had sent the contract in literally seconds before they hit us with this news. We were hoping for better transparency, especially when we were in the midst of finalizing everything on our end the same day. Plus, it would've been nice to get quicker responses to our questions throughout our communication, which I believe would have sped up this process in its entirety. Why send us a contract if someone is in the middle of booking the same date and tell us it's available (same day)? Overall my husband and I are very disappointed and had higher expectations given their reputation.
