The sweetest old lady runs the place by herself & she makes a great Shisha. We came for the 2 nights we were in Montreal and ordered blueberry mint with a little peach. She doesn't start the Shisha herself so you do have to start it. The Shisha is smooth with great smoke. You do have to use 2 coals as it's a larger head but she gives you extra coals when she delivers it to you. Give this place a try if you're looking for somewhere to relax, study, or spend time with friends!

When I step into a hookah bar, especially one run by a someone from the Middle East, I expect a much wider selection of shisha. They had a small assortment of Al-Fahker flavors and while good, Al-Fahker is not a strong tobacco, and that's the only brand they carry which I was disappointed in. Note: If you want natural coals, you'll need to ask for them...and I noted that coal service was excellent) The drinks and the food were excellent and the place had a cool vibe to it, but then again it is close to a college, so that was to be expected. It got crowded during our two hour stay and when we left the place was at least half full of people, all enjoying hookah, sipping on drinks (tea, mostly) and enjoying some of the great food that they offer. Traditional Turkish style lanterns hang from the ceiling, the music that plays over the sound system is chosen by guests, there's a laptop playing music on YouTube available for you. The shisha quality is consistent and very good. You'll notice the pipes are Khalil Mamoon and the tubes are sturdy Starbuzz pipes. I think the tobacco they use is Al-Fakher. There's no food but if you can believe it they don't mind if you have pizza delivered there or bring something in to eat. In terms of drinks they have a selection of those Arabic malt drinks called Barbican, an espresso machine and of course Moroccan mint tea. Overall, if you're looking for a place where your squad will feel welcome and comfortable to chill, Cafe Ali-Baba is for you.

They have brown & black leather chairs and marble top tables. The place was filled with clients (both female & males) - this may seem like an odd comment but a lot of hookah lounges seem to attract an older mostly male clientele. My friends and I were very pleased to see a lot of female as we just left another hookah lounge after feeling out of place as it was a sausage fest (excuse my language). The music was on point as well! The hookah it self came with variety of flavors. They had a large selection of drinks (alcoholic & non alcoholic). The peach mint didnt pull well, meaning no billows of smoke. If you are going to make a hookah, you need to ensure that you are putting out the best product. Also, why would this establishment serve Puck coals rather than cubes. Then again no one in MTL knows how to make a Hookah.
