I am sorry to write this review as I had a very high opinion about Danube international school some…read moreyears ago! But nowadays if you have in mind putting your child into Danube International School, think twice! School was really very good once but now school is just about making a profit on every end. For the last couple of years´ fees increased by about 2.5% every year with reasons they think are acceptable.
*School hired security, there is ONE guy there who should "save" everyone in case of a threat!
But fees were increased among others for that reason.
*School will be rebuilt for more classrooms but there is only ONE PE room in the whole school.
If 2 classes have PE, one class has to do PE "alfresco" no matter if it rains or it's cold outside.
*There is no nurse or a school doctor who comes frequently!
*They built an elevator but it doesn't serve every floor!
*Good, capable teachers who love to teach and who are loved by the students have to leave
(as they are getting too expensive or don't fit into their schedule for the following year) and are
replaced by younger teachers of whom many are not that experienced or familiar with the
PYP or MYP program. There are also complaints from the parents´ side about long term
hired teachers (shout, drill, are very strict,...) but are kept.
Consider VIS or AIS or any other bilingual school in Vienna and enroll your child there before you also end up as frustrating parents who put their child into one of the other schools in Vienna for next year.
