I really loved the stained glass windows in particular - so vivid and colorful with gorgeous imagery. The congregants were warm and welcoming. The priest delivered messages that were inclusive and applicable to modern life. I enjoyed my time there.

Has progressively gone downhill. 12 staff people have resigned over the past two years - twenty…read morethousand spent on landscaping plus tens of thousands of dollars spent on livestream equipment run by someone who is not as skilled in production as the equipment merits. The staff is demoralized (those that are left) - it's like Jesus Himself packed a bag and left. They are down a beloved nun who wanted to retire here, a youth minister, religious Ed director, etc. - unthinkable.

I find Rabbi Mallach easy to talk to and responded immediately when needed. Dues, religious school fees & preschool fees are comparable to places nearby. I've made many friends and enjoyed many of the various activities including concerts, speakers and dinners. Beautiful venue for events with a well established onsite caterer who provides delicious food. Iespecially like the tasty hors d'oeuvres & yummy desserts. Plenty of parking.

My family has had a very good experience as members of this congregation. We joined the synagogue…read morewhen our daughter was in the 3rd grade so she could start Hebrew school. We met many nice families from Springfield and the neighboring towns. My daughter had a beautiful Bat Mitzvah, and three years later, out son also excelled at his Bar Mitzvah. They each got a great Jewish education and developed close bonds with other Jewish kids. My daughter went on to become USY (United Synagogue Youth) president, and my son, USY membership vice president. They each enjoyed the Temple's Teen Institute, which was their decision to attend. Bottom line, Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael was an important part of their growing up. I highly recommend joining this synagogue for the social aspect as well as the religious one. Now that my husband and I are "empty nesters" we enjoy participating in the Friday night international themed dinners following the lively Shabbat services. And I have become active in Women's League where I've gotten friendly with many women from town who previously were just acquaintances.
