I thought all Life Time's would be like this, but this place is truly unique in the quality of the actual people working there (and the clientele)--they are great! Austin should take notes, learn from Tampa!

Then I heard about this location opening up on this date, on this date etc. I reached out to check on additional costs since originally it wasn't "included" on our member level. I believe they wanted $300 more on top of the $359 monthly. I told them they can pound sand. Then mysteriously this club was included in our membership. I was pumped to find this out. So I came here for massage today which Bailey did a great job but there are some key things missing with this club. First, no steam room in the Men's locker room? The Kids Academy? All of the kids are in one room together and it's a rather cramped room as well. I asked if there was plans to expand but there is not. I can't imagine brining a baby there because it's loud in there. I went to the Cafe and they were out of 3 types of Shakes - one I asked for before I was told they were out. Also, when I got my message, there was no Hot Tea available. I counted 12 trainers on the floor but only 2 were busy. I felt bad for them. The layout on the gym floor seemed very cramped between equipment. I'm glad they opened but some changes need to be made with this layout if possible esp with all the kids in one room.

Hitting the stairs in hyde park heading to car was such a task. The reformer is operated from both ends, there are multiple gadgets to alter the tension on the pulley. There is also gadgets to help with modifications. There are optional weights. The room is pretty dark with cool neon blue lights, sort of help with focus. I do feel like half way through, the AC could've been pumped up a bit. I'd suggest wearing no socks, unless grippers and long leggings because the leather on the reformer can get slippery from sweat and you know other people's sweat to consider from previous classes - though there are wipes! There's no actual demonstrations, so be sure to listen to the instructions verbally being stated. As a first timer, it took a while to understand some of the names of the pieces of the reformers but Jodi, our instructor, was motivating, energetic, and helped assist when necessary. No idea how she did all at once lol Jodi had a great playlist as well. There is a code emailed to those schedule for the class because the door stays lock for safety. There are lockers for your things - I didn't know how to work it, so I, like many, brought there things in the room and stored it under the reformer and out the way. The bathroom has all the necessities - spray deodorant, tampons, hair supplies, and more.

This wellness center boasts an efficient layout--compact yet thoughtfully arranged--with plenty of cardio machines, weight stations, and free weights. Locker rooms are clean and functional. The space overall is well-maintained and welcoming. Many staff and member reviews echo the same sentiment: "friendly and helpful staff... always clean." Hours & Convenience The hours are great for working professionals: Monday through Thursday from 5am to 8pm, Friday until 7pm, Saturday until 1pm, and Sunday until noon. After 5:15pm, members get two hours of validated parking at the nearby Fort Brooke Garage--huge bonus in downtown Tampa. The Studio offers small-group training, yoga, and specialty classes throughout the day, with sessions available early in the morning, during lunch, and in the evening. Instructors like Rickey (spin) and others consistently earn praise for being both motivational and engaging. From the front desk team to personal trainers, the staff here make a real impact. They're professional, warm, and ready to help, whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth. The gym feels like a positive, welcoming environment--not overly flashy, just consistent and community-minded. Smack in the middle of Downtown Tampa, just steps from the Riverwalk and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, this YMCA is a wellness oasis for locals and office workers alike. It's a hub for both fitness and outreach, staying connected to the Channelside and Downtown neighborhoods. A few notes: the gym can get a bit busy during peak times (especially lunch), and group fitness classes can be very high-energy--sometimes with music turned up a little too loud. But overall, these are minor quirks in an otherwise stellar facility. Final Verdict 4.5 out of 5 stars -- A solid, well-run fitness center with great staff, solid equipment, and an easy-going atmosphere. If you live or work downtown and want a consistent, welcoming space to get your workout in, this YMCA is a gem.

Excited by our sessions I hired Scott for online coaching. I repeatedly told him his workouts were taking me 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete and I only could spend 60 minutes. He eventually told me that I needed to spend 75 to 90 minutes doing strength 3x per week. This didn't make sense since lifting isn't my primary sport and I don't have that amount of time. He stated that the workouts may be taking so long because I wasn't conditioned to doing the level of work he was assigning. I would expect a custom training plan to be tailored for my needs then, but he refused and simply told me to remove 1 set from accessory lifts. I had to completely restructure his workouts to make them fit within an hour. He also responded to just 1 of the 4 form review videos I sent through, although he was very thorough when he did respond. I assume he's great for some people, but seems like he doesn't have the time to truly customize plans for every one of his online clients or respond to messages. If you can work with him in person I's say it's worth it, but not as an online coach.
