Even from the outside I could tell that this store was all about luxury. I saw flowers, I saw silk cushions and I saw gorgeous dresses - I was sold.
There is a cross over between Japanese fabrics (lots of cherry blossoms and rich colours) and French style in the clothes inside - they are exquisite and very lavish, but I did feel as though they catered to an older clientele, (by older I mean over 25).
I really like the home wares here - bright golds, reds, oranges and pinks abound and the fabrics range from silk to cotton. You'll find quilts, cushions and more dotted around the store landscape.
Vixen comes from Melbourne and the whole process of designing and producing the material and products is done here. The patterns are unique and the style is distinctive - Vixen has found its place on Gertrude Street and seems to be doing very well.
The sales assistants are great, and though I haven't yet bought anything, I am severely tempted by a few cushions in the window. read more
