I'm not even vegan, but I was really excited to come to this place because I really wanted to try some of their tamales or a tamal (saving stomach room because I had so many places I wanted to eat at). The people here couldn't have been any sweeter and I love that when you walk through the restaurant to get to the beautiful backyard dining area, you're pretty much walking through the kitchen and seeing that the food looks like it's homemade and fresh. To have a complete meal where I felt like I was eating clean, I ordered the green juice along with my papadzul tamal. The description for this tamal was - traditional pre-Hispanic Mayan salsa made with roasted pumpkin seeds, amaranth, tomato, and habanero. Now I had a lot of tamales in my time, but I wanted to try something that felt really local and this sounded perfect to me. They brought out my food with some sauces on the side - a tomato salsa that was not spicy, some pickled onions with habanero, and some habanero smoke infused olive oil. I really loved the food here specially with that style of tamal wrapped in banana leaf. And sitting in such a beautiful setting as well. I can't recommend this place enough and I would love to come back and try some of their other tamales.

I have had my fair share of beet burgers and vegan nachos, but at Laylo, the beet-meat burger and the nachos were the best I have ever had! There is limited seating inside the lounge and outside in the patio but it's nice and quiet. Also try their tropical smoothie which has Mango, Papaya, Almond Milk, and coconut! We had a chance to speak to the chef and he was kind enough to explain his journey on how he develops new vegan dishes for the menu. Definitely a must-stop if you are looking for a delicious vegan restaurant in Tulum.

I had the coconut bowl! It was especially scrumptious after a day of swimming in the cenotes! Definitely no complains! My belly was filled with glee and my body thanked me for the nutrition! Everybody was happy! Everything is fresh and delicious. Staff mentioned items are made to order, which is uncommon to be honest. It seems many places serves per-made dishes. I really wanted to visit for their breakfast vegan French toast. Apparently the bread is custom made at a local bakery! However, there seems to be issues with the kitchen so they were not open the morning before my flight. With that said, it is definitely worth visiting.
