This restaurant is still holding true to Tex-Mex recipes originally from Mexico families. Their enchilada plates ,all three , cheese,beef, and Gwen chicken. My favorite plate is the barbacoa breakfast plate with homemade corn or flour tortillas , served with fried potatoes and re-fried beans. On June 15th at 1:50 p.m. we arrived at this restaurant for lunch. We were unaware that due to Father's Day they were closing at 2:00 p.m. . We sat down and the waitress did not inform us of the early closure so we ordered. This being sad our food came out quickly but not satisfactory. The charro beans were lukewarm to cold. My tacos were bland and not at the par. Within minutes after receiving our food, the cook / maybe owner as it's been turned over to new owners, came up and said if you want anything from the kitchen you need to order it now as we're closing it down. A few moments later, the head waitress came over and said we're dumping the tea if you need a refill you're going to have to order it now. I just gotten a refill but I hadn't even finished my mail yet as we had just gotten it. When I tried to explain to her later as we were being rushed out in less than 15-20 minutes total (ordered, received, and rushed out). That again we would not have stayed if we would have been told they were leaving at 2:00. She said that's okay. She actually said it twice. I said no it's not okay. We were rushed out the door we didn't get to relax and eat her food etc. She just kept saying that's okay. She does not get our chose not to get it. I Stopped in to pick up a to go order of enchiladas, rice and beans. The staff was very friendly and they seem to do a good Sunday afternoon business. The cheese enchiladas were pretty good with a bit of brown gravy covering them. The rice had an excellent flavor. The refried beans had a weird consistency to them, I'm not sure if they came from a can or not. Mix the refried beans with the rice and it's still tasty. I thought the real star of the show were the homemade flour tortillas. Light, fluffy and delicious. I'm definitely thinking I'm heading back there for some breakfast tacos. My family and I love to eat breakfast here. The tortillas aren't as good as the Devine tortilla factory but the food in the tacos are good. The beans have flavor but aren't too salty and I enjoy their salsa verde. My family is full of picky eaters and we all like something on the menu even for the people who don't like Mexican food but like eggs bacon and pancakes. Arrived around noon on a Saturday. Looked under staffed. There were a lot of tables dirty or still full of dishes. Waiting staff was pleasant and greeted us as we entered. When we sat a dirty table, staff used napkins to clean it. I could have done that. We we're waiting on sanitizing spray or a damp cloth that had been soaking in sanitized water. Food was alright but potatoes we're just barely warm. I asked for crispy bacon, it was chewy. The ranchero sauce was watery. The coffee did not taste fresh. But at noon, I guess that to be expected. The family stopped there for breakfast before a road trip. We would eat there several times a week. Never again. My wife got food poisoning. When the culture came back after an emergency room visit, it was from fecal matter contamination in the food. She went in later to let them know that they had a problem. Very unhappy with this place. placed an order for breakfast and went to pick up once I was home realized part of the order was gone when I called back manager was just trying to rush me off the phone when I went back to get the food had to wait 20 mins before it was done. nice place w/ plenty of seating, local cop dps hangout right off I 35. their enchiladas & carne guisada taste alike & the carne guisada is always a lil on the tough side. i keep going thinkin maybe they braised the meat a lil longer, this time, but always the same...maybe i just need 2 try something else on their menu. read more
