Take one look at the impressively disorganized weight rack or the torn up fake grass and you'll know the luxury aspect hasnt been around since day 1. Space is very limited too, squeezing between moving machines to add weights is just purely dangerous. They have personal trainers who don't engage with gym-goers (not sure how they ever get new clients). The locker room is quite dirty too. Definitely not a place to do anything more than change or store your bag. At the end of the day, they have an ample selection of machines and weights (with the exception of a real squat rack). They have great big windows, which I have found super rare of gyms in Madrid, so lots of natural light. My advice: get trainers who help maintain the gym, and interact with clients (gym and trainers will earn more €)! Maybe don't worry about the tacky roof top terrace or club, and separate the health and wellness aspects.

It was tough to find a gym with a great free weight section. Saw this place and decided to check it out. Had a great set up. Not your typical CA/USA gym. Dumbbells only go to 40kg or 88lbs. They only have 20kg plates/45lb plates for bars and machines. It def has enough to get the job done. Super easy to get a multi-day pass for about 9 euros a session. Compared to my $400 a month gym membership in San Francisco, this place is a steal. I think a monthly membership is only 25 euros a month, which is what I will start doing. So cheap. The woman working here does speak some English, enough to sign up. As an American here for two weeks a month, check this place out. Overall happy with it, just watch out for all the skinny Jabroni's using baby weights everywhere with no real gym etiquette. Leaving weights all over the place, not knowing the don't leave the bench without a towel or shirt on it when using it.

Lifeguards put little effort into separating swimmers by speed, which might be fine for intermediate swimmers but tough for fast swimmers. Signage for "calle rapida" doesn't really mean anything. Swimmers also don't pay attention to others in their lane; I would hate to see these poeple driving. Pool is crowded most hours, but the problem isn't the crowds but the lifeguards and the other swimmers. Learn to respect others people!

The only thing I'm not a fan of is there was no soap/shampoo/conditioner in the showers which was a bummer. The lockers were old school and offered a key to lock the locker, the key was not turning so I gave up on trying to use the locker and carried my bag around the gym. They offer classes which I didn't get to participate due to the times they offered but I'm glad we got to work out a little on our vacation. The workout consisted of Hang Cleans, and two quick workouts -- Handstand Pushups & Burpees, then Double Unders and Toes to Bar. The instructor was friendly and made sure we understood the right techniques. He also provided scaling options for some of the newer members in the class.
